Russian Blogger And Samsung Insider Eldar Murtazin Shares Everything He Knows About The Galaxy S8
For tech enthusiasts and Samsung fans alike, the million dollar question is: What will the Samsung Galaxy S8 look like?
If you've been following the news about the Galaxy S8's reported specs and features, there are tons of it and not all paint the same picture. However, according to BGR, there is one reporter that is well-known in the past (up to now) for releasing extensive previews on unreleased Samsung devices. And that person is non-other than Russian blogger and Samsung insider, Eldar Murtazin.
What About The Russian Blogger?
Eldar Murtazin gave an extensive preview about the Galaxy S8 over at Mobile-Review. And based on the preview, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has already been shown to the key carriers of the device last December. Here are the things that Eldar has shared:
The Launch And Price
According to Eldar, the key carriers who attended the private meetings with Samsung have seen the design of the Galaxy S8 and were quite impressed. In one of those meetings, an unnamed executive stated that the Galaxy S8 will be released in the second half of April and while the demand is expected to be high, the supply may be constrained at launch. And for its price tags, the smaller version will cost $700 to $750, while the larger version at around $850.
The Design And Display
The Samsung Galaxy S8 will come in two sizes: a 5.7-inch screen and a 6.2-inch screen sporting a new AMOLED display technology, giving it a larger color gamut, better brightness, improved color accuracy, and increased energy efficiency. The phones will also have an increase of the "screen-to-front" ratio. And one more thing, both smartphones come with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a USB-C port, and an Iris Scanner.
Eldar also did mention about the Fingerprint Sensor under the Galaxy S8's display, although can't say yet for sure if it will be implemented. However, according to BGR, recent Galaxy S8 case renders did show a smartphone without a Fingerprint Scanner on its back, so it could probably be true. Oh, and the two alleged promo videos that were said to be the actual design are not true, but rather a demo of this new OLED technology.
The Galaxy S8 will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat that comes with Samsung's UX, Samsung Cloud (complete with new cloud purchase options), Samsung Pay, and much awaited Samsung's own voice assistant, Bixby. The phone will be packed with the Snapdragon 835 and the Exynos 8895 which will be built on 10nm process technology. It will also come with a new GPU chip, the Mali-G71.
Internal Memory And Battery
Ever heard the rumor that the Galaxy S8 will feature 8 GB of RAM which got everyone excited? Well, according to Eldar the Galaxy S8 will come in with 64 GB of storage with 6 GB of RAM instead. And for its battery specs, the battery size will be similar to what is found on the Galaxy S7 models.
The Galaxy S8 will have this special feature called Game Mode. There are not that many information about this, but according to BGR, it could be the rumored Beast Mode. What this does is it will let users connect their smartphone to a bigger screen and use Android on a bigger display in desktop mode.
