The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Balances Story And Adventure For A Unique ‘Ending’

Nintendo's upcoming game, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," aims to capture the feeling of an adventure while balancing story elements. Moreover, series creator Shigeru Miyamoto explains the importance of plot in video games.

Shigeru Miyamoto Explains the Important of Story in "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild"

According to IGN, Miyamoto recently sat down for an interview to explain some details about the latest Zelda game. He claimed that the game's producer, Eiji Aonuma, crafted an interesting title wherein players are not specifically bound to a plot and will feel as if they are embarking on an adventure. The creator added that Aonuma managed to find a balance between open-world exploration while keeping an active plot.

In line with this, Miyamoto acknowledges the fact that having a story in any game is important. He stated that it is important for the plot to leave lingering feelings once players complete a game. However, he claimed that there is a challenge in having to cut down on playtime when it comes to setting up and narrating a story.

The Outcome is Up to the Player

Moreover, he added that players should be able to experience and "live in" the plot and that is something that the Zelda series has been working on over the years, as per My Nintendo News (blog). For the latest installment, fans will have to "dig the narrative out" in order to make out the major underlying tale. Similarly, Miyamoto mentioned how "Breath of the Wild" still keeps the original formula of the series but tries to make it more interactive, in a sense.

Keep in mind that the upcoming title boasts various routes and approaches which give players the freedom to literally customize their playstyle. For this reason, Miyamoto claimed that whatever conclusion each player reaches is basically the "story" of the game. With this in mind, it seems like "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will have a huge range when it comes to the ending.
