'The Big Bang Theory' Season 10 News, Spoilers: Penny's Family Makes First Appearance

"The Big Bang Theory" is set to return for its tenth season in a week. Many fans look forward to seeing the sitcom's main couple Leonard and Penny renew their vows. However, this time, their families will be finally around to witness the ceremony.

As fans expect, the ceremony will not be going as smoothly as planned. Among the major difficulties already waiting to happen include an incident involving Leonard's dad, played by Judd Hirsch, and Sheldon's mom, portrayed by Laurie Metcalf. The two will apparently be questioned if they had spent the night together.

One of the biggest surprises in "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 will apparently be the appearance of Penny's other immediate family members, specifically her mom and brother. Entertainment Weekly reports that Katey Sagal is cast as Penny's mom, while Jack McBrayer is Penny's infamous drug addicted brother. This introduction is much awaited by many fans as only Penny's dad, played by Keith Carradine, has been seen.

Executive producer Steve Molaro shared, "Penny's close with her dad. As we know, her brother Randall has been a bit of trouble over the years, selling drugs and being in and out of jail, and that's put a lot of stress on her mom."

Molaro added that the stress will cause tension to rise quickly within the family with Penny and her dad being in the middle.

Another guest star will be Dean Norris who acts as an Air Force representative from the Department of Materiel Command. He will be approaching Leonard, Sheldon, Raj and Howard about their quantum gyroscope for military applications.

With such a star-studded cast, many are concerned that the 20-minute running time of the show will not be enough to showcase all the characters. However, Molaro assured that each special guest star will have a moment, according to TVLine

The whole cast returns for Season 10 of "The Big Bang Theory" as the first episode airs on Sept. 19.
