The 2017 variant of Galaxy A tablet was previously being called as Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2017. However, the popular tipster, Ronald Quandt has revealed that the rumored tablet is not Galaxy Tab A 8.0, instead of coming with model number Samsung SM-T380 / SM-T385, it will come as Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S.
Previously The SM-T385 is expected to be a revamped A8, but today's news makes it hard to believe that it may be the Galaxy A8.0 (2017). The new Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S name doesn't affect the earlier listings of the rumored tablet, which has already appeared on TENAA, FCC and WiFi Alliance. The listing has appeared as the model number Samsung SM-T380 / SM-T385, which is now said to be Galaxy Tab A2 S, as reported by TheAndroidSoul.
Recently, Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S' user manual also appeared online, confirming the presence of Bixby Home. However, there is no information on the tablet's pricing and availability so far, as reported by GSM Arena.
On the camera front, the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S will allow capturing images with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. There will be a 5,000mAh battery in the tablet, which will keep the lights on while the tablet should boot Android 7.1 Nougat. There are chances for a higher OS, as nowadays devices are coming from the box with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S will be made available in Black and Gold color variants.
According to the previous listings, Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2017 now known as Galaxy Tab A2 S is rumored to be a budget friendly tablet, which will feature the 8.0-inch display with a resolution of 1200 x 800 pixels. The tablet will pack 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage memory. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 425 clocked at 1.4 GHz, Quad Core Cortex A53 CPU, and Adreno 308 GPU.
