U.S. carrier AT&T now has the rugged SamsungGalaxy S4 Active up for pre-order.

With the best-selling Galaxy S4 raking in sales of 10 million units worldwide in less than a month, Samsung cashed in on the excitement and launched the water- and dust-proof variant of the smartphone recently.

"Continuing AT&T's legacy as the first carrier to launch the Samsung Galaxy series, we're excited to offer the next evolution of the popular Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S4 Active is a high-performance smartphone with a stylish, protective design to keep up with the demands of everyday life. It's truly summer-proof," notes Jeff Bradley, AT&T's SVP of Devices and Developer Services, per the press release. "With its quad-core processor and access to the nation's largest 4G LTE network you can stay connected nearly anywhere life takes you."

AT&T will be the first carrier in the U.S. to offer the Galaxy S4 Active and the smartphone will hit the network operator's stores on June 21. Alternately, those interested can purchase the smartphone online from the same date.

The Galaxy S4 Active will be available for $199.99 on a two-year contract with AT&T and is now available for pre-order. The smartphone will be offered in two colors - Urban Gray and Dive Blue.

The Galaxy S4 Active houses the same features as the Galaxy S4. However, the smartphone is IP67 certified to "making it perfect to take on any summer vacation whether it's camping or the beach." The handset also packs in the Aqua Mode feature, which lets users take photos and videos underwater.
