Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to release earlier than anticipated?

Samsung could possibly release its much-awaited Galaxy Note 3 phablet earlier than anticipated, in either July or August. The earlier debut is apparently owing to weak sales of the Galaxy S4.

According to Android Authority, "A new report suggests that Samsung may be interested in launching the Galaxy Note 3 earlier than initially planned, in order to compensate for poorer than expected Galaxy S4 sales."

Additionally, ETNews reported that Samsung is cutting down on orders for Galaxy S4's components for July down to 6.5 million units. Considering April and May numbers were 10 million and 12.2 million, respectively, that's quite a drop.

In May, Samsung's J.K Shin let on that the Galaxy Note 3 would make its debut at the IFA in Berlin in September. However, with the Galaxy S4 sales not performing up to expectations, the Korean company could be looking to make the successor of the best-selling Galaxy Note 2 phablet available to consumers sooner than expected.

While bringing forward the launch of the Galaxy Note 3 will not help Galaxy S4 sales, it spark more excitement for Samsung's Galaxy range of devices. What's more, the earlier the smartphone hits the shelves, the sooner Samsung will be able to cash-in on the excitement surrounding the early sales for the Galaxy Note 3 and sing its way to the bank.

However, it's worth noting that historically the Galaxy Note smartphones haven't sold better than the Galaxy S series so it will be interesting to see if the Galaxy Note 3 can change the trend.

By releasing the Galaxy Note 3 before September, Samsung would also be able to stay ahead of competition. This move would work in the company's favor as rivals like HTC and Sony are also looking at launching 6-inch plus phablets (the HTC T6 and Xperia ZU) this year

We'll have to wait and see if the Galaxy Note 3 launches prior to September or makes its debut at the IFA in Berlin.
