New HTC One Mini Specs and Photos Leak

The HTC Mini will be the smaller and less expensive sibling of the flagship HTC One. New images and specs of the upcoming smartphone have now leaked.

HTC has the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini in its sights with the HTC One mini. Both companies have created a mini-version of its flagship smartphone in the hopes that consumers who don't want to carry around a large device will find these smaller devices as a contender for their smartphone. The smartphones also keep an almost identical look to their older siblings, but offer a device in a smaller size and less expensive price. The HTC One mini and Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini use the same materials found in the larger devices. The HTC mini will retain the One's aluminum unibody enclosure, while the Galaxy S4 Mini continues Samsung's love of using cheap plastic in its smartphone cases.

New leaked images and specs have appeared online and show the black variant of the HTC One Mini, a white option will also be offered to consumers. The site also claims the HTC One mini will feature a 4.3-inch 324ppi (pixels per inch) 720 x 1280 display and will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and HTC Sense 5. Recent rumors claim it will be powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, include 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G LTE radio, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS, and a non-removable 1,700 mAh battery.

The HTC One mini is also expected to gain two other HTC One features; including similar front-facing stereo speakers with HTC BoomSound and Beats Audio. The smartphone is also expected to use the same 4.3-UltraPixel rear-facing camera and front facing camera.

While HTC has not confirmed the mini, it is widely believed to announce and release the smartphone August. It will also be competing with two upcoming mid-range smartphones that are expected to debut around the same time. The Moto X has been confirmed to launch by late summer and Apple's low-cost iPhone is rumored to launch alongside the iPhone 5S in September. Things are certainly heating up in the smartphone world with all of these highly anticipated devices.
