While the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the company's current flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S3 is still considered to be one of the best smartphones on the market. And now, it can be obtained for a penny when signing a new 2-year AT&T contract.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 was the smartphone that can be credited with bringing Samsung to the same level of Apple. The company knew it needed to create a smartphone that would not only stand tall above all other Android smartphones but it needed to be a worthy alternative to Apple's iPhone. The company succeeded by building a thin and powerful smartphone that quickly became the smartphone of choice among Android fans and consumers. The device has sold over 50 million units and Samsung continues to provide updates to the smartphone to bring the latest and greatest version of Android to the Galaxy S3.
We recently reported that Samsung was testing Android 4.2.2 for the Galaxy S3. The update also includes some popular features that are currently found on the Galaxy S4. The update will bring the Galaxy S4 lock screen, which will include new widgets and new unlock effects with ripples and animations. An updated version of S-Voice, the company's Siri competitor will offer Galaxy S3 user more advanced features. Voice control will allow users to control the smartphone with voice commands. Other features included are Driving mode, Daydream, Actionable Notifications, support for full-screen Samsung apps, and a Smart Switch widget. The update was leaked in May and is expected to be available in the near future.
The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 features a 4.8-inch, 306ppi (pixels per inch) 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED HD display, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (will be receiving Android 4.2.2), a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of internal memory and 2GB of RAM.
