'Halo Infinite' Season Two: What to Expect — Is the Campaign Co-Op Included at Launch?

"Halo Infinite" players will have to wait a bit more for a full-featured four-player online campaign co-op experience.

According to 343 Industries' Joseph Staten, adding an online campaign co-op will "take more time to land" in the massive, wide-open world of Halo Infinite, per a Halo Way Point post.

Four-Player Online Campign Co-op Details, Release Date

Staten explained that the delay was caused by the "big challenges" posed by the non-linear, wide-open sections of the "Halo" campaign during the company's effort of adding a 2-player split-screen co-op experience in the game on all Xbox consoles, from the original Xbox One through Xbox Series X.

The time these challenges took pushed back the release of a full-featured four-player online campaign co-op feature later during season two.

343 Industries previously planned to release a four-player online campaign co-op, along with "Halo Infinite's" Season 2 release.

The company also promised players it would share a release date for a four-player online campaign co-op and split-screen co-op as soon as they could.

Staten did not specify if both split-screen co-op and four-player online campaign co-op would be arriving on the same day, according to an article from The Verge.

What Else to Expect for Season 2

Aside from the delayed four-player online campaign co-op, 343 Industries is currently working on tracking and analyzing all critical issues that negatively affect players' experience with the game and its supporting devices for "Halo Infinite's" second season.

As such, the company has prioritized addressing "acute, unknown-before-ship issues" that have a widespread negative impact on the shipped experience. These include adding partial improvements to the game's anti-cheat software and addressing the issues on Spartan Career, Campaign- Co-op, and Forge.

343 Industries is working on a public-facing version of the Hotlist, the company's record of all critical issues it's tracking and analyzing to improve players' experience. This version of the hotlist would serve as a way for players to see the status of a particular issue as the company works to address them.

"Halo Infinite's" Season 2 would also come with a new Battle Pass and a new theme: Lone Wolves.

According to an NME article, this theme would come with new maps - the arena-type, Catalyst, and Big Team Battle-focused map, Breaker - and game modes, which include "Last Spartan Standing," a free-for-all elimination mode, and an updated version of "king of the Hill" mode.

Another game mode, Land Grab, is also coming with "Halo Infinite's" second season, but 343 Industries has yet to reveal what kind of mode it is.

Season 2 would also come with cinematics and story-themed events that revolve around Lone Wolf Spartans - resourceful improvisers that operate deep in enemy territory without resupply or support.

Finally, "Halo Infinite's" second season will introduce players to two free armor cores: the Lone Wolves armor core and the Fracture armor core.

Season 2 of "Halo Infinite" is scheduled for launch on May 3, a day after the game's battle pass for its first season ends.
