Designed to look like something out of a dystopian sci-fi film, Dyson's new Zone air-purifying headphone is now ready to be released to the public. Dyson claims that it is a real device that will be available for purchase sometime this fall although the exact date has not been officially revealed yet.

The headphones Dyson is releasing are noise-canceling Bluetooth headphones with air purification technology built-in with a magnetic face visor. In terms of product development, it is both the strangest and most ambitious thing that the company has ever done.

Through efforts to reduce both air and noise pollution, the Zone hopes to improve the quality of life for people who live in urban areas.

Noise-canceling over-ear headphones are announced to deliver immersive sound to the ears while simultaneously ensuring purified airflow to the nose and mouth, addressing air quality and noise pollution in just one device.

Furthermore, Dyson has not revealed an exact price or even an estimated cost of how much the Zone will be. However, consumers and tech enthusiasts have assumed that these will be more expensive than noise-canceling headphones from Bose and Sony.

It is also predicted that the starting price of the device will be set out in a high-end equivalent based on the previous products Dyson has released. The price tag for the Dyson Zone could also be more expensive than Apple's AirPods Max headphones.

The chief engineer and the son's founder, Jake Dyson, stated that air pollution is a global issue that affects everyone and everything on the planet. In our homes, at school, at work, and on our travels, whether on foot, by bicycle, or by public or private transportation.

As reported by CNET, he also stated: "The Dyson Zone purifies the air you breathe on the move. And unlike face masks, it delivers a plume of fresh air without touching your face, using high-performance filters and two miniaturized air pumps. After six years in development, we're excited to deliver pure air and pure audio, anywhere."

Dyson stated that this product is a "non-contact" air-filtration system which means that it does not come into contact with the user's face like a mask but instead sits just in front of it.

According to The Verge, despite the fact that the filters are not reusable, Dyson claims that the Zone can filter out up to 99% of particle pollution and stated that the filter will need to be replaced after about a year.

Dyson, for years, has been rumored to be working on this wearable tech device. In 2018, there were talks that the company was working on a combination of air purifier and headphones. After the following years, it was reported that Dyson applied for a patent for a new pair of headphones that resembles the Dyson Zone revealed today.
