T-Mobile has officially started taking pre-orders for the Sony Xperia Z. Customers who pre-order will receive a free Sony Bluetooth speaker with their smartphone.
T-Mobile announced that it would begin offering its customers the Sony Xperia Z and Nokia Lumia 925 online and in retail stores beginning on July 17. The carrier has just started taking pre-orders for Sony's water-resistant smartphone. Customers who pre-order will receive free overnight shipping and an unspecified Sony Bluetooth speaker for free with their order.
The Xperia Z is currently Sony's flagship smartphone and features a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 full HD TFT shatter proof and scratch-resistant glass display, it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, will be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, include16GB of internal storage, microSD expansion slot with support for up to 64GB cards, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash with full HD video recording, 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and a non-removable 3,050 mAh battery. The smartphone is IP55 and IP57 certified to be both water and dust-resistant. The Xpeia Z started the new trend that we're beginning to see other smartphone makers add to their devices, by making them water and dust resistant. Samsung recently launched its Samsung Galaxy S4 Active with these features.
Sony has also built in what it calls "Battery STAMINA mode", which helps manage battery drain by recognizing when your display is off and turns off functions you don't need, while keeping the notifications you want. Once the display is back on, everything is up and running again. The 13-megapixel camera on the Xperia Z uses Sony's Exmor RS for mobile, which allows the user to shoot objects in vivid colors and capture night images and faces in stunning clarity. Exmor RS for mobile includes HDR video, for clear shots even when your subject is backlit.
Customers can pre-order the T-Mobile Xperia Z online with a down payment of $99 and 24 monthly payments of $20, or until the smartphone is paid off. The carrier is including free overnight shipping and a free Sony Bluetooth speaker with orders for a limited time.
