Netflix Reboots Iron Chef — Will Alton Brown, 'The Chairman' Return?

Netflix is gearing up for the return of Iron Chef, with Alton Brown as host, "The Chairman," Mark Dacascos, and Kristen Kish. On Monday, Netflix announced that it was reviving Iron Chef and bringing back its original host, Alton Brown, to the streaming service.

One of the most popular cooking competitions on reality television is debuting on streaming.

The series will also feature the return of Mark Dacascos, who played "The Chairman" during the show's first run, as well as the addition of Top Chef winner Kristen Kish as a co-host.

Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend will be the title of the next Netflix series, which will debut on the streaming service on June 15.

Netflix's: Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend

Netflix is bringing back the iconic Iron Chef series, this time with a massively expanded approach to the ground-breaking culinary challenge show that started it all. Iron Chef has always been a widely known cooking show that gives difficult and unique culinary challenges to its participants. It's been labeled the most difficult culinary task a chef will ever face.

Netflix defines the new Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend as: "This is where world-class cuisine meets high-octane sports. Five new trailblazing Iron Chefs will welcome brave Challenger Chefs to the reimagined Kitchen Stadium, where they'll face off and be pushed to the limits of endurance and creativity, as they cook up extraordinary culinary creations. The competition's most successful Challenger will return to battle in a grand finale for the chance to be named the first ever "Iron Legend."

"The Chairman" of the Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend cooking competition will be America's Iron Chef, Mark Dacascos, who previously served as "The Chairman" of the cooking competition's international version.

Mark Dacascos' long history with Iron Chef makes it seem fitting for him to return to the show and take center stage for the next reboot in its new home on Netflix.

As CinemaBlend reports, Mark Dacascos is also known for his television roles in Agents of SHIELD, Wu Assassins, and Hawaii Five-0, in addition to his role as the evil John Wick antagonist.

However, when it comes to Iron Chef, Dacascos's name will forever be associated with The Chairman's amusingly cartoonish actions and reactions throughout more than 200 episodes of both Iron Chef America and The Next Iron Chef.

Netflix's Iron Chef Reboot

Iron Chef is a show that originally came from Japan. It is based on the world-renowned concept created by Fuji Television Network (FTN). As Polygon reports, on Iron Chef back then, during each episode, challenger cooks would compete against experienced professionals in cooking tasks that were frequently themed around a certain ingredient.

It was later adapted for American TV, which ran for 13 seasons on the Food Network. Due to the success of Iron Chef, it began to have numerous spinoffs from different countries around the globe.

The original show of Iron Chef America included three main iconic hosts: Mark Dacascos as the Chairman, Alton Brown, and Kevin Brauch. However, in Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend on Netflix, Kristen Kish will take the place of Kevin Brauch.

According to Variety, the Netflix original series Iron Chef Mexico and Iron Chef Brazil will be released later this year. Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend will have 8 episodes, each of which will have 45 minutes.
