Alan Wake fans are now getting the update of their dreams with the collaboration of AMC and Remedy Entertainment!

As reported, AMC has recently bought the rights to the cult favorite game, Alan Wake.

The television network AMC is responsible for airing critically acclaimed shows such as Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead.

The fact that AMC has been successful with television adaptations of hit comic book series makes it seem like a natural fit for the network to adapt a video game franchise like Alan Wake.

Alan Wake Acquired by AMC

Alan Wake's adaptation of Journey to the Television first resurfaced back in 2018. Remedy Entertainment said it was working on a TV version of its popular supernatural horror game. Four years later, it looks like the news will now come to fruition as they will work closely with AMC to make the show happen.

According to IGN, Remedy Entertainment's creative director, Sam Lake, confirmed the excitement around the news, saying, "Well, AMC, the wonderful, wonderful home for absolutely brilliant TV shows, has bought the rights to Alan Wake." And we have been collaborating on making a TV show happen.

In an Alan Wake update video, Lake acknowledges the fact that it has been quite a while since they talked about the TV show.

The news that AMC has purchased the rights to adapt Alan Wake into a television series came out today, bringing the possibility of that leap being a reality one step closer. In their statement, Remedy did not have very much information to provide on the progression of the series.

Fans can now breathe in relief with this information, although Remedy admitted that the Alan Wake TV adaptation still has a long way to go.

Alan Wake

It is possible that an Alan Wake TV series will follow the same path as the game; Remedy stated that the show would focus on expanding the lore of this crazy and dark universe as well as delving deeper into certain aspects of it than the game did.

That would mean there would be a lot of focus on Alan, who is a very important character in the game, but there would also be time spent developing some of the game's other characters, such as Wake's agent Barry Wheeler and his wife Alice.

EuroGamer says that the video game , which came out for the Xbox 360 in 2010, tells the story of a best-selling writer named Alan who goes to the quiet town of Bright Falls, Washington, to get over his writer's block. Alan's adventures are told almost entirely through monologues.

After that, sinister things start to take place, and the line between reality and Wake's fantasy starts to blur. Even if some of the gameplay elements can be a bit shaky at times, the game does an excellent job of capturing the picturesque, small-town location. As a result, the experience is really atmospheric.

Fans of Alan Wake will be disappointed to learn that there has not yet been an update provided on the sequel. However, there is now both a new TV series and a remastered version of the original game available for the Nintendo Switch.

Owners of a Switch can anticipate that Alan Wake Remastered will be made available for purchase on the Nintendo eShop. If users are interested in the remastered original title, it's already available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC.
