New Yorkers will soon see a new kind of delivery vehicle on New York's streets.
Fun Utility Vehicle (FUV) developer Arcimoto and JOCO, the world's first Light Electric Vehicle sharing platform for delivery drivers, have recently announced a partnership to field test the former's Deliverator in New York City soon.
The Deliverator is already available in several other states across the US, such as Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington, per Electrek.

According to Arcimoto's announcement, the field test will allow JOCO to market the Arcimoto Deliverator to local businesses and independent delivery drivers as a new sustainable delivery option for daily and weekly rentals.
JOCO operates a fleet of two thousand e-bikes for delivery gig drivers across its 50 JOCO Hubs in New York City, Chicago, and Boston combined.
The field test of Arcimoto's Deliverator is expected to start on June 15.
Jonathan Cohen, JOCO's co-founder, mentioned that the field test is "a great opportunity to offer the latest electric vehicle technology to the business owners and drivers of New York City." He also said that the Deliverator is another way for independent contractors and delivery companies to make money while being eco-friendly and cost-efficient.
Meanwhile, Arcimoto CEO and Founder Mark Frohnmayer said that the JOCO users would enjoy "meaningful per-mile savings" compared to gas-powered vehicles. It would also offer "rockstar" parking and service and brand awareness boosts due to the Deliverator's appearance being a head-turner across Manhattan's streets.
Arcimoto Deliverator Details
According to a separate announcement from Arcimoto, the Deliverator is a three-wheeled e-trike with a top speed of 75 mph and 350 lb, carrying capacity, and more than 20 cubic feet of cargo space. It also has a target of 100 city miles of range on a full charge, making it a more efficient delivery vehicle than traditional delivery vans and trucks.
The Deliverator is a repurposed single-seater FUV that has its rear passenger seat replaced with a large cargo box that can store, carry, and deliver various products, such as parcels, pizza, perishable groceries, medicines, and drycleaning.
Compared to traditional delivery vans and trucks, the Deliverator only produces a carbon footprint of a quarter of its competitors.
Frohnmayer said that Arcimoto developed and manufactured the Deliverator to create a vehicle that provides a more environmentally-friendly and space-efficient alternative to local and last-minute delivery.
"The Deliverator's nimble, small footprint can improve fulfillment and delivery times by allowing the operator to more easily move through traffic and find parking compared to a full-sized automobile," Frohnmayer said. "With reduced fuel and maintenance costs, we believe the Deliverator will offer significant per-mile savings. For small business owners and corporate fleets alike, the Deliverator delivers."
The Deliverator is available for pre-order at a starting price of $25,000, according to Arcimoto's page for the Deliverator. The e-trike can be equipped with a Corbin Diamond seat that offers "the ultimate sitting experience," removable half-doors that add extra protection to the elements, a phone mount, and a cup holder.
