Corsair introduced its first-ever laptop, the Voyager A1600, powered by AMD.

During the Computex 2022 event, Corsair introduced the Voyager which will initially only be available with hardware from AMD.

The Voyager a1600 is the first laptop ever built to be a "truly mobile streaming solution." With that aim, Corsair's first-ever laptop will have a few distinctive features that set it apart from other laptops.

During the presentation at Computex 2022, AMD stated that Corsair's Voyager could only be purchased with a Ryzen central processing unit and a Radeon graphics processing unit since it is reported to be part of AMD's Advantage program. The company noted that the machine would ship with the most recent generations of both parts.

A few features from the AMD Advantage program also include access to a range of AMD Smart technologies, such as SmartShift and Smart Access Memory, which the Corsair Voyager will all have.

In addition to that, it will be able to utilize the recently introduced Smart Access Storage. This technology supports the DirectStorage API for AMD Advantage laptops, which helps to accelerate loading speeds for compatible games.

Earlier this month, Digital Trends acquired leaked information about the possible configuration of Corsair's flagship offering for the Voyager. The rumors that surfaced mentioned a Corsair laptop that featured a Ryzen 9 6900HX and a Radeon RX 6800M.

A 16-inch 240Hz 1440p display that supports FreeSync Premium is also included in the package along with the workstation. Additionally, the memory in the machine is Corsair DDR5.

Corsair Voyager Specs

Corsair's Voyager will have both a Ryzen 6000-series processor and an AMD Radeon RX 6000-series graphics card. After acquiring the custom PC builder and enthusiast community leader Origin in 2019, Corsair is making its debut in the mobile hardware market with this product.

Looking at how the Voyager is designed, the device looks like it has a "touch bar" feature in it, although that's not exactly what it's called. Specifically, Corsair said that the horizontal bar at the top of the keyboard contains ten S-key shortcut buttons that are easy to use and can be customized. The good thing is that this row of 10 easily accessible, customizable S-key shortcut buttons adds more keys to the keyboard.

Since the Elgato Stream Deck software is what drives these S-keys, users will have the capacity to use this device to handle various aspects of live streaming. These aspects may include toggling between scenes, launching media, and altering audio. Of course, the device does not just cater to the streamers; the keys can also be used as a controller for Zoom meetings.

The Voyager will also be equipped with a full-sized Cherry MX low-profile mechanical keyboard with RGB backlighting and a 1080p Full HD camera.

As enumerated by The Verge, buyers of Corsair's first laptop will have a staple Radeon 6800M GPU and will choose between a Ryzen 7 6800HS and a Ryzen 9 6900HS. The Voyager a1600 has a 16-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a refresh rate of 240Hz. It also has two Thunderbolt 3 USB 4.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, an SDXC 7.0 card reader, and an audio jack.

Finally, the laptop will have DDR5 RAM that can be expanded to 64GB and a storage capacity of 2TB. This Corsair laptop costs $399 to $699. There is no official release date just yet, but it is rumored that the Voyager might come at the end of 2022.
