New Kindle Fire tablets to gain high-end specs and new design

Amazon is getting ready to refresh its Kindle Fire tablet lineup. New details have leaked and the reported specs of the upcoming tablets are very impressive.

The company has seen a great amount of success with its Kindle Fire tablets. Amazon has never revealed how many devices it has sold, but the tablets are among the top-selling Android tablets on the market. Amazon has built the tablets to take advantage of its large ecosystem of Amazon services consumers use, including Amazon's own App Store, Kindle Bookstore, Amazon MP3 Store, and Amazon Prime. The company is expected to release its next-generation Kindle Fire tablets in the coming weeks.

BGR is reporting that it has received new information on the details and specs of Amazon's upcoming Kindle Fire tablets. The new 7-inch Kindle Fire HD will feature a 1920 x 1200 HD display, a thinner and lighter design, will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, which includes 4 Krait 400 CPUs and Adreno 330 graphics, it will have 2GB of RAM, choices of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of internal storage, a front-facing camera, and will run Android 4.2.2 under Amazon's customized skin. The slate will also have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G LTE radio.

The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD will reportedly feature a 8.9-inch 2560 x 1600 Full HD display, thinner and lighter design, will be powered by the same quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and Adreno graphics of the 7-inch tablet, it will also include 2GB of RAM, but will have an 8-megapixel rear camera in addition to the front-facing shooter. The upcoming 7-inch model will only have a front camera.

The report also claims that the build of the tablets has improved over the current generation. The tablets will reportedly be thinner, lighter and more comfortable to hold. The site claims to have learned from "multiple sources" that Amazon is looking to launch its new Kindle Fire tablets sometime in the fall, possibly in late September. Amazon is supposedly trying its best to retain similar pricing to the current generation, but has not settled on final pricing.
