The BioShock series is one of gaming history's most memorable video games due to its breathtaking settings, enemy roster, and unforgettable storylines. However, as with most things, the experience the game provides isn't free and must be bought to do so.

However, for a limited time, that will not be the case.

Epic Games was recently spotted to have made BioShock: The Collection bundle free to download for all Epic Games Store users for a limited time.

The only catch is that this only applies to PCs.

The game bundle includes improved versions of the three main BioShock games.

Epic Games Store BioShock: The Collection Giveaway Details

According to Bioshock: The Collection's page on the Epic Games Store, the game is free from May 26 until June 2 — a one-week bundle giveaway.

Kotaku mentioned in its report that once you created an account for the Epic Games Store and downloaded the game during its one-week giveaway, it will be yours forever. However, as is the norm in the Epic Games Store, this offer only applies to the bundle's PC versions.

The bundle consists of the Remastered versions of the first two BioShock games, which are set in Rapture, a massive underwater city utopia serving as an escape from the control of governments and religion, per Screen Rant.

The remastered versions also come with add-ons such as Director's Commentary, Challenge Rooms, and Minerva's Den in the case of BioShock 2.

The bundle also includes BioShock Infinite Complete Edition and its DLCs, consisting of the two-episode Burial at Sea content, Clash in the Clouds, and Columbia's Finest.

As the third game in the BioShock series, it takes players to Columbia, a city floating in the sky. commissioned by the United States government, according to the BioShock Fandom website.

Why Play the BioShock Series?

The games in the BioShock series are first-person shooters with straightforward character progression and simplified elements from immersive sims, such as stealth and hacking.

You, the player, rely on firearms and the occasional supernatural power you gain as the game progresses. During the course of the first two BioShock games, you will have to explore Rapture, as previously mentioned. However, the city is mostly abandoned due to greed and superpowers.

For the third game, you are tasked to save a young woman locked up in a tower in Columbia to settle your (the player character's) debts.

All three BioShock games have some political allegories so memorable and prominent that they triggered several years of online discourse about them after their releases. However, if you can get past them, you'll find that all three games are fun, action-packed, and beautifully made first-person shooter games, which are additional reasons why the games are so memorable.

The games even won awards despite the political allegories inserted in the games, with the third game receiving the Best Shooter Award during the 2013 Spike VGX.
