[WATCH] Disney+ Reveals Trailer for 'Andor' During Star Wars Celebration

With the first look at "Andor," Disney kicked off its Star Wars Celebration event. Diego Luna reprises his role as Cassian Andor from "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" in the upcoming Disney+ series.

On Aug. 31, the show will be available for streaming, as per the report of The Verge.

Like the "Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi" series, as per IGN, it will premiere with two episodes. "Andor" will have a total of 24 episodes, divided into two sections of 12 episodes each.

"Andor" is one of a slew of Star Wars series in the works for Disney's streaming service. There's "The Mandalorian's" third season, as well as "Obi-Wan Kenobi," a show centered on Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka, and a Lando Calrissian "event series."

'Andor' Trailer

You can watch the trailer for "Andor" below.

The trailer starts with what the subtitles refer to as a "Time Grappler" doing Star Wars' version of Big Ben.

As militant forces approach, a guy named Salman Paak pushes his people to cover their weapons and hide. These are most likely early members of the revolt, as the series will show how numerous planets and people were involved in the Rebellion.

Casian Andor, the titular hero, is introduced for the first time five years before the events of Rogue One. Actor Diego Luna stated his character is a totally different person now, one who is selfish and in urgent need of the awakening that comes in Rogue One.

Finally, the trailer concludes with Maarva, a new character played by Fiona Shaw of Killing Eve, informing the officers who invaded her home about the rising resistance. Shaw's character on Killing Eve was a spymaster, so we wouldn't be surprised if she plays a similar job in this series. Andor is, without a doubt, a full-fledged spy show with plenty of political intrigues.

Another Star Wars Series in Disney+

As previously reported, on May 4, Lucasfilm and Disney+ released a new trailer for "Obi-Wan Kenobi," just in time for Star Wars Day.

The trailer teases Obi-Wan Kenobi and Lord Darth Vader's upcoming battle. The classic Star Wars villain was revealed in the trailer, and Hayden Christensen reprises his role as Anakin/Vader, who was (as we all can remember) horribly burned.

The "Obi-Wan Kenobi" series picks up 10 years after the events of "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith," and will fill in some of the narrative gaps between the prequels and the original trilogy in a six-part limited series.

Obi-Wan Kenobi suffered his worst defeat in "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith," when his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, fell to the dark side and became malevolent Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is an anticipated American television miniseries for Disney+'s streaming service. It features the same-named "Star Wars" character.
