Sony Xperia i1 'Honami' leaked images show OmniBalance design, 20-megapixel camera with G Lens and more

New images of the Sony Xperia i1 'Honami' have leaked. The images detail the handset's OmniBalance design, camera with "G Lens" branding, and more.

Sony has seen its Xperia i1 'Honami' leak multiple times in the last few weeks. We've seen the Honami's new user interface (UI) and redesigned launcher. A retailer posted and listed the smartphone's press images and specs, and the most recent leaked images compared the smartphone to Sony's current flagship, the Xperia Z.

A new set of images has leaked and we get a closer look at Honami's design. Some rumors claimed that Sony would use an aluminum back on the smartphone, but the images clearly show that Sony will be using its OmniBalance design with the Honami. The smartphone will use the same front and back glass panel design found on the Xperia Z. The image also shows that the camera will use Sony's G Lens technology. Another image takes a look at the camera's software, which further confirms that the handset will use a 20-megapixel camera and will snap pictures as a resolution of 5248 x 3936. The final image shows the Xperia i1's side and what appear to be magnetic pins that will be used to charge the smartphone with a docking accessory.

The Honami will reportedly feature a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) TRILUMINOS display with X-Reality for mobile and run Android 4.2.2. The smartphone is expected to pack a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU).

The Xperia i1 will also include 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM.  When it comes to on-board cameras, Sony will be using a 20-megapixel rear camera with ExmorRS for mobile, Sony G-Lens and BIONZ for mobile and a 2-megapixel Exmor R front-facing camera. Wireless connectivity will include a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC. The Honami will be powered by a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery.

Sony is expected to officially announce the Xperia i1 'Honami' at the IFA show in September.
