Tesla CEO Elon Musk speaks during the unveiling of the new Tesla Model Y in Hawthorne, California on March 14, 2019.

The billionaire says that the humanoid robot does what Musk describes as "unsafe, repetitive, or boring" tasks, such as making a room sparkling clean or getting fresh goods from the grocery.

But during that time, a working prototype of Optimus was nowhere in sight. Instead, the Tesla chief executive only described how the humanoid works.

The tech entrepreneur, Musk, said that it should see the light of day some time at the end of 2022.

Musk had to do a whole presentation showing us the size of the humanoid robot could be. The Optimus is about 5'8 tall, weighing roughly around 57 kilograms.

Although its dimensions are akin to a human person, an artificial intelligence (AI) system, which the giant EV maker also uses for its cars these days, controls it.

CEO, and chief engineer at SpaceX, Elon Musk, arrives for the 2022 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 2, 2022, in New York.

According to a recent report by Electrek, the Tesla AI Day for this year is scheduled a year after its first inaugural event in 2021, supposedly on Aug. 19.

However, Musk also announced on Twitter, alongside the working prototype of the humanoid bot, that the AI Day 2022 has been slightly pushed to a much later date.

The Tesla CEO explained that the delay for the second AI Day is entirely due to the Optimus prototype as it expects a working timeline by around end of September.

So, instead of having the "epic" Tesla AI event in August, it has been moved to Sept. 30.
