eBay Live Shopping Launches: Here's What You Have to Know

eBay will soon allow you to interact with a seller and other interested buyers simultaneously.

The popular auctioning and e-commerce company recently announced it would soon be launching its new dedicated live shopping platform, eBay Live, later in late June.

eBay wants to continually bring the "best advancements" to the community to ensure the marketplace is delivering what consumers and enthusiasts want and need.

eBay Live Details

eBay mentioned in its announcement that its new eBay Live dedicated shopping platform will begin on June 22 at 3 PM ET. It will allow interested customers to "engage with products as if they're in a traditional offline shop" and interact with sellers and fellow customers in real-time.

To celebrate the first series of its new shopping platform, eBay Live will offer a curated selection of "highly coveted" and rare trading cards from top eBay seller Bleecker Trading. The cards that would be sold in eBay Live's first series include a 1995 Topps Finest Micahel Jordan M1 Red Bordered Refractor PSA 9 MINT and a 1998 Kobe Bryant Skybox That's Jam PSA 10.

Meanwhile, popular trading card enthusiast DJ Skee will be hosting eBay Live's first series.

Customers attending eBay Live's first series can interact with both DJ Skee and Bleeker Trading directly in the platform's chatbox and through reaction buttons like in a video call on Skype or Facebook live streams. They can also purchase any of the cards that will be featured in eBay Live's first series directly from the live stream if they so choose.

DJ Skee expressed his approval of eBay's initiative on launching its new dedicated live shopping platform, saying that he loves that the company continues to push its limits to provide the best possible experience.

"eBay's constant roll out of new offerings, - Authenticity Guarantee for trading cards, the eBay Vault, and now eBay Live beta - has been absolutely game-changing," DJ Skee added.

Jess Mineo, head of Bleecker Trading also expressed the same sentiments as DJ Skee, adding that eBay has always provided Bleeker Trading with "the incredible reach" of a global platform. He also mentioned that eBay Live beta technology allows Bleeker Trading to highlight its offering in a "more personal, meaningful way."

Dawn Block, VP of Collectibles, Electronics, and Home at eBay, mentioned that the company has always been the home for trading cards and collectibles. She added that eBay Live would offer a new live platform that combines "an engaging environment with incredible ease" to allow its collector community to come together over shared interests and merchandise.

How To Go To eBay Live's First Series

Interested eBay customers and collectors may go to the eBay app and at ebay.com/eBayLive to participate in the live shopping platform's first live stream.

eBay's Other Offerings

Aside from physical collectibles like trading cards, eBay has also started selling NFTs on its platform, with a series of tokenized collectibles starring Wayne Gretsky of the National Hockey League being one of the tokens available for purchase.

eBay is already familiar with NFT selling before, but it wasn't until mid-2021 that it integrated blockchain technology into its platform to support sales.

eBay is the first e-commerce company to offer NFTs for digital collectibles like trading cards, photos, and video clips on its platform, per Reuters.
