The "New Pokemon Snap" for the Nintendo Switch is safari-themed game where players try to capture pictures of their favorite Pokemons out in the wild. However, getting a four-star rating for photos is easier said than done.

On June 24, the original Pokémon Snap will be released on the Nintendo Switch Online plus Expansion Pack service.

The iconic Nintendo 64 game was first launched in July 1999 for North American Pokémon enthusiasts and has been available on the majority of Nintendo's home consoles since the Virtual Console's inception, according to the reports of Dot Esports and CNET.

Where Can You Get It

It'll be available via the Nintendo 64 - Nintendo Switch Online app, which is a free download for Expansion Pack subscribers.

CNET mentioned that Pokémon Snap is the sixteenth game from the Nintendo 64 to be released on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. Individual subscriptions are $50 per year, while family subscriptions are $80. The latter is good for up to eight Nintendo Accounts on numerous systems.

The Switch Online plus Expansion Pack plan also includes a library of classic Sega Genesis games. In addition, you can also download select Switch DLC, such as the Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Happy Home Paradise expansion and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass.

Every month, Nintendo releases a new Nintendo 64 game on Nintendo Switch Online, as per Dot Esports.

What Is the Gameplay of Pokémon Snap?

Kotaku said that the general idea of the game is like this. Professor Mirror and his research workers set out to investigate the islands of the Lental region, documenting the region's Pokémon population by snapping photos of animals in the wild. It's actually a nice little gig, since you're given a room to stay, high-end camera gear, and an endless supply of fluffruit to throw at Pokémon to attract their attention.

Aside from that, you'll also have unlimited use of the NEO-ONE, a high-tech vehicle with teleportation capabilities and the ability to live in the harshest of environments. You can't steer the NEO-ONE; you can only ride in it while it patrols pre-determined paths, giving each course an amusement park ride feel.

Pokémon Snap's Popularity

Fans were treated to a pleasant surprise in 2021, when Nintendo and Bandai Namco finally released New Pokémon Snap, a long-awaited sequel, on Switch, more than 20 years after the original was released.

In fact, Dot Esports said it received largely positive reviews and has sold over 2.2 million copies worldwide!

Given the game's popularity, it appears like many fans will be pleased to see it return! While the game may not have as much substance as New Pokémon Snap, it still holds up well, and longtime fans will remember the original for several reasons. Newcomers will soon get the opportunity to find out for themselves!

However, CNET noted that Pokémon Snap isn't the only game coming to Switch on June 24. Nintendo will release Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes on the same day. You may download a free demo of the game from the Nintendo eShop, and any progress you make will carry over to the full game if you buy it.
