HTC One X+ starts receiving Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5.0

Recent reports suggest that HTC One X+ has started receiving the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system in Taiwan.

While this is definitely good news for One X+ owners in Taiwan, the rest of the world is eagerly waiting for an update as well.

"After some initial confusion, the HTC One X+ Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 update is indeed rolling out in Asia and a noted leakster says that it will touch down in Europe at some soon," reports GottaBeMobile.

Well-known leakster @LlabTooFeR was asked when the software update will roll out in Europe but the response was a bit vague.

"Maybe this week, but probably next week...," @LlabTooFeR tweeted on Thursday, Aug. 8.

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is expected to bring a number of improvements to the handset. The software update will bring new HTC BlinkFeed home, new lock screen style, electronic gadgets, added display, the battery meter in the status bar options and new sleep mode switch. The latest update also improves the notifications panel.

Following the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update, HTC One X+ users can long tap the screen shot on the screen to start the exposure/focus lock function. The update also includes 12 styles of music themes, automatically edited into a stunning 30-second video.

HTC announced the One X+ as the successor to the HTC One X in Oct. 2012. The HTC One X+ comes pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system along with HTC's own Sense 4.0. The latest software update on the HTC One X+ brings the handset on par with the current flagship smartphone, the HTC One, which also shipped with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean but some select international variants of the smartphone have received the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update.

With the recent launch of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, many customers are likely hoping to get the latest flavor of Jelly Bean as soon as possible, but they will have to wait until individual carriers roll out the software update.

With the HTC One X+ starting to get Android 4.2 Jelly Bean it is anybody's guess if the successor, the HTC One, will also get the software update soon.
