If you've been waiting to finally get yourself a Steam Deck, here's some good news for you from Valve.

Valve said that it has increased Steam Deck production. The company announced on Monday that it will be shipping "more than double the number of Steam Decks every week," according to GameSpot.

"Production has picked up, and after today we'll be shipping more than double the number of Steam Decks every week!" Valve tweeted through the official Steam Deck account.

Valve is Already Processing Order Fulfillment of Steam Deck

Quarter three order fulfillment is set to begin according to Valve. This is along with the news of the increased in production. With this, after June 30, those in Q3 should start to begin receiving emails.

According to GameSpot, the last of the Q2 emails have also been sent out. Valve said that if you're in Q2 and still expecting an email, the email is on its way. If you want to know the status of your Steam Deck preorder, you can login to your account.

Initially, Valve planned to start shipping Steam Decks in December last year. However, due to supply chain issue, they are opted to delay the release until February this year.

Now, it appears that "Valve has found the parts and production capacity it needs to build units at a faster pace and get them out to customers more quickly," according to Engadget.

If you want to reserve a Steam Deck now, it is unlikely that you would receive it until at least October. However, Valve may be able to bring down the wait time since it is increasing up the volume of shipments.

Engadget noted that hopefully, Valve will soon be able to ship a Steam Deck "within days of someone deciding to order one."

There are some cautions issued regarding the new Steam Deck. According to a report by Engadget, it's probably a good idea to avoid swapping out the built-in storage when you do eventually get your Steam Deck.

A warning was issued by Valve hardware designer Lawrence Yang that the power requirements of off-the-shelf SSDs could cause a Steam Deck to overheat. Therefore, it could shorten the lifespan of the gadget.

Demand for Steam Decks Continue

Over the years, we can observe that Valve's Steam Deck has been pretty successful. It became a means for people to play their favorite PC games on a mobile device.

"There's a very clear market for the Steam Deck. It's a device purpose-built for a selection of people that already have established Steam libraries and simply want the most convenient and performant way to continue those games away from a desktop." Reviewer Alessandro Barbosa said in a Steam Deck review written by GameSpot.

According to SteamDB, the Steam Deck has been part of the top Steam charts for nine of the last 11 weeks. The ranking tracks top sellers by revenue.

According to The Verge, "it's still an indication that Valve is selling the handheld gaming PCs as fast as it can make them and that there was quite a bit of demand."
