Nokia has launched a number of top-end smartphones of late, including the Lumia 925. The smartphone is now available for pre-order in India.
The 16GB version of the handset is now up for pre-order in India at a price tag of Rs. 33,999 (approximately $560.33).
Nokia launched the Lumia 925 and the Lumia 928 back-to-back in May this year. The company also launched the much-awaited camera phone, the Lumia 1020. Apart from the Lumia 928, both the Lumia 925 and the Lumia 1020 are visible on the the Nokia India website with a "coming soon" label. However, the Finnish company has not confirmed an exact release date or the price of the handsets.
Online retailer Flipkart has started taking pre-orders for the Lumia 925 in all three colors - black, white and gray - with an estimated release date listed as the fourth week of August.
Flipkart is also selling the 32GB version of Lumia 920 at Rs. 30,999 (approximately $510.89). The Lumia 925 is not very different when compared to the Lumia 920. however, the Lumia 920 on offer from Flipkart has double the memory when compared to the Lumia 925 on the retailer.
The Lumia 925 is definitely an impressive Windows Phone 8 (WP8)-powered handset. Both the Lumia 925 and the Lumia 920 have identical processors, displays, cameras, batteries and RAM, but they are slightly different in terms of exterior design. At 5.08 x 2.78 x 0.33 inches, the Lumia 925 is slimmer than the Lumia 920 which measures 5.13 x 2.79 x 0.42 inches. At 4.9 ounces, the Lumia 925 is also lighter than the Lumia 920 which weighs 6.53 ounces.
With not a lot of new features and hardware specifications on offer and at an inflated price of around Rs. 3,000 (approximately $50) it will be interesting to see if customers are attracted to the Lumia 925 in India.
Moreover, the Lumia 1020 is also making its way to the country with better specifications than the Lumia 925 and the whopping 41-megapixel camera may appeal to customers more than the Lumia 925. However, we don't know what will be the retail price of the Lumia 1020.
