Amazon Prime Day 2022: How to Make Alexa Order for You and Make a Purchase

Amazon Prime Day 2022 is just a few days a way (specifically on July 12 and 13 if you have not heard just yet) and there are already some pretty sweet deals available for Prime members this early.

However, it can be hard to score certain deals you are after, especially if many people are after them as well. It may be easy to blame your fingers for not tapping or typing fast enough, but there may be a solution to that, especially if you have an Amazon Echo device or the Amazon app.

You can just ask Alexa to order for you!

Amazon Prime Day 2022: How Alexa Can Help You With Your Shopping

Amazon Prime Day is always an exciting event for shoppers, but if you do not move fast enough, some great deals can slip right through your fingers. Luckily, if you have an Echo device or Amazon app, you can enlist Alexa's help with your shopping.

According to Amazon, all you have to do is "follow the prompts on your Echo device or use Alexa on the Amazon app to checkout." We will get to the prompts in a short while.

You can also ask Alexa to notify you when there are upcoming deals on items that you are interested in so that you do not miss out on them. What is more is that Alexa can even buy these items on your behalf as well.

So how do you ask Alexa to find deals for you? Just tap Alexa on the Amazon app and ask the question "Alexa, what are my deals?"

Alexa Prompts for Amazon Prime Day 2022

As of press time, there are six Alexa prompts you can use to order via your Echo device or Amazon app. Specifically, Amazon says that the "offer only applies to the eligible item purchased from Amazon.com using Alexa voice shopping on an Echo Family device, Fire TV, or Alexa on the Amazon App."

Here are the prompts:

  • "Alexa, order a Fire TV Stick 4K"
  • "Alexa, order a Fire TV Stick Lite"
  • "Alexa, order a Twilight Blue Echo Dot with Clock"
  • "Alexa, order an Echo Dot with Clock"
  • "Alexa, order a Ring Video Doorbell Pro"
  • "Alexa, order a Ring Indoor Cam White"

Take note that you have to make your purchase between July 10 at 12 a.m. PDT and July 11 at 11:59 a.m. PDT. The purchase must be completed by the latter date and time.

What to Keep in Mind When Using Alexa to Order

Before you start making any purchases with Alexa, make sure first that your voice purchase settings are the way you want them to be. All you have to do is head to Settings, then Account Settings, and select Voice Purchasing.

You can likewise opt to create a voice code, a four-digit code Alexa will ask you to say before it completes a purchase.

Do note that when it comes to payment method and delivery address, Alexa will use the default payment method and address in your Amazon account.

You can also ask Alexa to cancel your order should you make a mistake. Per Amazon, "You can also cancel your order on the Your Orders page on the Amazon website or in your Amazon Shopping app."
