‘Stranger Things’ Fans Posted Theories About Eddie Munson on TikTok

Netflix Crashes Minutes After ‘Stranger Things 4’ Volume 2 Release

The season 4 finale of Netflix's "Stranger Things" is still a cause of great sorrow for some of the show's fans.

On TikTok, some fans are so heartbroken that they are formulating theories about how a certain person may return after assuming to have passed away.

But among these theories, there is one that genuinely makes sense.

The Death of Eddie Munson

Eddie Munson has arguably been the season's standout character. Eddie joins forces with the Hawkins kids to defend the town, and is falsely accused of killing cheerleader Chrissy Cunningham.

Sadly, Eddie died in Dustin's arms after being overrun by the bats while trying to catch the attention of the demobats and holding his position so that his companions would have time to attack the wicked Vecna somewhere in the Upside Down.

No one appeared to be really upset over Eddie's passing but Dustin.

TikTok, though, is another story.

'Stranger Things' Fans Formulate Theories on TikTok

People appeared to be curious about Eddie's demise and whether he would be making a comeback in the upcoming season of the show.

In fact, short videos related to "eddie munson theorys" garnered 7.6 billion views on TikTok as of the time of writing.

The person who first proposed this fan theory on Eddie's possible return in season 5 is difficult to identify.

In a TikTok video which was viewed for 2.3 million, @.dizay shared an idea that appears to be relatively feasible. This theory was then expanded on by TikTok user @paulruddfanclub (her video gained 2.8 million views as of the time of writing).

Eddie Munson Theory

As previously mentioned, viewers of the show have different theories. This, however, appears to be the most sensible among all of them.

The theory, as per CNET, is that Kas the Bloody-Handed was a revived lieutenant of Vecna's who betrayed Vecna and killed him in the Dungeons & Dragons. It is worth noting that he was a vampire.

Eddie was bitten by demobats, and the theory then goes along with the conventional notion that bat bites can turn people into vampires.

On TikTok, some have noted that Steve Harrington was also bitten, but fans of the theory counter that in order for him to return as a vampire, he would have had to pass away. And Eddie passed away.

The odd sword Hawkins police chief Jim Hopper picked up in a scene just before Eddie's passing was also brought up by TikToker @jadenbricker. Some people believe Eddie's arm tattoos of bats, which have a similar connotation, are related.

Fans are hopeful that the similarities between Kas and Eddie point to Eddie's impending comeback.

What Do Netizens Say About the Theories?

While some fans were still skeptical into believing the fan-made theories, a significant number of them believes (or hopes) that Eddie will return next season.

TikTok user @NotOwen said: "I hope this happens purely because we need Eddie alive."

There are some who supported the theories made and agreed that they indeed make sense. TikTok user @DottieStims said: "This would fit with the duffer brothers saying the bats don't kill. Yeah they don't kill but they can TURN PEOPLE INTO VAMPIRES."
