Samsung Galaxy S4 now available for just $29.99 on AT&T

AT&T has started selling the 16GB refurbished version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 for $29.99 on a two-year contract, but the handset is currently out of stock.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is one of the most-wanted Android smartphones around. Released in April this year, the handset has attracted a vast number of customers worldwide. With a few months having lapsed since the release of the device, it shouldn't come as a surprise that AT&T has started selling Certified Like New or refurbished handsets. However, at the same time you are guaranteed to get a handset that is not even over four months old.

The U.S. carrier is currently selling a brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 for $199.99 on a two-year contract. If you don't want to pay that hefty price for a new handset and are happy using a refurbished smartphone, which was used by someone before, then the AT&T offer may attract you.

It's worth noting, however, that the offer is web-only and you have the option to buy either the Black Mist or White Frost version of the handset. Not a lot of refurbished handsets may be available; however, with the given price tag it may be worth to keep an eye online to see if any handset beomes available again.

The hardware of the handset remains the same as found on a new Galaxy S4 and the smartphone would have gone through the carrier's checks before being put up for sale. Usually, you get a year's manufacturing warranty on a brand new handset, but with the refurbished handset AT&T is offering 90 days warranty.

"An independently tested and reconditioned pre-owned phone with at least a 90-day warranty. Good as new and good for the environment," reads AT&T's description for the Certified Like-New device.

The Galaxy S4 packs in top-end hardware specifications and the handset comes pre-loaded with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. With the recent launch of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, users will hope to receive the latest operating system soon.

If you are looking to buy a new Samsung Galaxy S4, will you buy a brand new handset or will you also consider buying a refurbished one?
