Verizon LG G2 to get exclusive wireless charging feature?

Verizon recently posted its LG G2 sign-up page and the carrier is touting that it will have an exclusive feature: wireless charging.

When LG announced that its flagship LG G2 would launch on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile it got rid of carrier exclusivity. The smartphone will launch around the same time on each carrier, i.e. in late September. We learned from Motorola's recent Moto X announcement that just because the smartphone launches on all carriers, smartphone makers and carriers still figure out a way to make that 'exclusive' happen. Motorola did it with AT&T by allowing its customers to customize the smartphone using a service through Motorola; other carriers will need to wait in line to offer the MotoMaker customization service. Verizon's LG G2 sign-up page went live and shows that the carrier has also figured out a way to get an exclusive.

According to Verizon's LG G2 sign-up page, its version of the LG G2 will include wireless charging as an exclusive feature. There is no information on how it plans on doing that, since LG made no mention of the smartphone having wireless charging capabilities. The G2 on Verizon's sign-up page also looks slightly different than the one LG unveiled. Its rear-buttons feature a different design than the images on LG's own site, so it's very possible that Verizon didn't make a typo.

The LG G2 features a 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 Full HD IPS display with a pixel density of 423 pixels per inch (ppi).  It is powered by a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. LG has included a 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. The G2 will be offered in 16GB and 32GB of internal storage, will be available in a choice of black or white, and packs in a large 3,000 mAh battery.

We'll have to wait and to see if LG or Verizon steps up and explains the feature, or if it was a simple mistake. The LG G2 will be offered by Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile in late September.
