Tesla gets its own lane at the United States and Mexico border crossing, which flaunts the giant logo of the renowned electric vehicle (EV) maker owned by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk.

Tesla's Lane at the US, Mexico Border

According to a recent report by Bloomberg, the American all-electric car maker gets a dedicated lane at the border crossing of Mexico near the upriver in Laredo, Texas.

The exclusive lane of the EV maker sports a green highway sign that carries a font that goes beyond usual signage. It uses the familiar typeface of Tesla that most folks would see at its factory.

But this time, the text is in white and placed on a green backdrop to be consistent with other signs in Mexico and the US border crossing.

As per a news story by Gizmodo, the Tesla sign sits on the Mexico part of the Colombia Solidarity Border Crossing, marking the exclusive lane of the suppliers of the Musk-led automaker.

NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 27: Tesla vehicles stand outside of a Brooklyn showroom and service center on August 27, 2018 in New York City.

The online news outlet notes that the US Customs and Border Patrol is seemingly unaware that the American EV maker got its dedicated lane at the said border crossing.

However, the press officer of the Customs and Border Patrol of the US, Rick Pauza, says there is no particular lane for the automaker on the US northbound side of the border.

And as such, it appears that the exclusive lane of Tesla only sits on the Mexico side of the international border between the two nations.

Tesla Exclusive Border Lane: What's the Reason Behind This

So how did Tesla get its special lane on the United States and Mexico border?

Bloomberg reports that no less than the economy minister of Nuevo Leon, Ivan Rivas, confirmed that Tesla had a deal with the pro-business state of Mexico.

The Nuevo Leon economy minister says that the exclusive lane of the automaker is "a simple incentive."

The dedicated lane of Tesla should enable its suppliers to go through international borders in a "much more expedited and efficient" manner.

Essentially, the suppliers of the renowned tech giant could skip the wait, at least in the Colombia Solidarity Border Crossing, thanks to the incentive from the Mexican state.

Rivas further hinted that there might be similar lanes for other firms, akin to what Tesla has now, moving forward.
