Amazon Prime Video Renews ‘The Wheel of Time’ for Season 3

Amazon Prime Video has a treat for fans of "The Wheel of Time."

Amazon unveiled that it is renewing the fantasy epic series "The Wheel of Time" for a third season. The announcement comes ahead of the season 2's launch, as per Gizmodo.

The series is based on Robert Jordan's sprawling, epic fantasy novel series. It is packed with characters, settings, and dramatic plot that fans will ultimately enjoy as it will soon return for a third season.

Prime Video Announced "The Wheel of Time" Season 3 at San Diego Comic-Con

The announcement of was made at today's San Diego Comic-Con in a panel that was focused on "The Wheel of Time: Origins," the animated "companion series." 

During the event, the panel ushered the series' creators for a presentation. The presentation reveals the six-part digital series. While it was originally an "X-Ray" feature attached to "The Wheel of Time," it can now be streamed separately. 

Running just three minutes long, each episode digs into aspects of history and culture. These visually stunning digital series add richer context to the series.

Executive producer and showrunner Rafe Judkins is thrilled to make the third season of "The Wheel of Time."

"The Shadow Rising has always been my favorite book in the series, so being able to bring it to television and introduce new audiences to the stories that made me fall in love with these books in the first place is such an honor, and something I've been working toward since I first pitched the show years and years ago." Judkins said in a Prime Video press release.

Meanwhile, Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studios expressed his excitement to go deeper into the world of The Wheel of Time with Rafe Judkins and his team.

Sanders added that Amazon Studios is very happy to give fans more reasons to be excited about the show. Moreover, the company is looking forward to give more "The Wheel of Time" to their customers worldwide.

Rosamund Pike Serves as Show's Star and Producer

"The Wheel of Time" season one, which consisted of eight episodes, premiered in November last year. The second season will most probably arrive later next year, as per the Deadline.

The series follows the story of Moiraine, plays by Rosamund Pike. She is a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai.

Moiraine arrives in the small town of Two Rivers, where she started a dangerous journey with five young men and women. One of her companions is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, someone who is bound to either save or destroy humanity.

Other actors in the series are Daniel Henney as Lan Mandragoran, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al'Meara, Madeleine Madden as Egwene al'Vere, Josha Stradowski as Rand al'Thor and Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara.

Aside from Judkins, Larry Mondragon and Rick Selvage of Red Eagle Entertainment, Mike Weber and Ted Field of Radar Pictures, Darren Lemke and Marigo Kehoe are showrunners of "The Wheel of Time." 

The series was produced by Pike. Meanwhile, Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson serve as consulting producers.
