NFT Worlds to Release its Own Minecraft-Style Game After Mojang Ban

NFT Worlds vows to release its own Minecraft-style gaming title in response to the recent move of Mojang to ban blockchain technologies in Minecraft.

The non-fungible token (NFT) firm is heavily affected by the ban that the Minecraft dev Mojang wants to implement. And as such, it now plans to forge its own path moving forward.

LOS ANGELES, CA - JUNE 11: Mojang's Brand Director Lydia Winters speaks about 'Minecraft' during the Microsoft xBox E3 briefing at the Galen Center on June 11, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. The E3 Game Conference begins on Tuesday June 13.

NFT Worlds to Release its Own Minecraft-Style Game

As per a news story by Games Radar, NFT Worlds is known for selling Minecraft seeds as NFTs.

So the recent statement of Mojang to kick out NFTs in the gaming title directly hits the NFT firm.

Thus, NFT Worlds now says that the move of the Minecraft dev to ban NFTs is "a step backwards in innovation."

On top of that, the NFT firm also boldly states that the publisher and developer of Minecraft, Microsoft and Mojang, "have no regard for creators, builders, and players."

All that said, NFT Worlds announced that it plans to develop a new gaming platform, which sports similar core mechanics to Minecraft.

The gaming firm touts that its version of Minecraft would flaunt what the Mojang gaming platform "has been missing for years," including both active development and modernization.

However, it clarified that their version of the phenomenal gaming platform is not going to be merely a Minecraft clone. It comes as simply rewriting the Mojang gaming platform could bring them legal trouble or it might end up being an End User License Agreement (EULA) violation.

That said, the Minecraft-style game would rather be developed "entirely from the ground up," says NFT Worlds.

The gaming firm teases that it would share a similar "playstyle, look, and feel" with Minecraft.

However, NFT Worlds claims that it is going to be distinct beyond that.

For instance, the blockchain gaming firm notes that it is independent of the policies of Mojang and Microsoft, which now blocks NFTs altogether.

On top of that, NFT Worlds vows that their version of Minecraft would be more "accessible, ownable, and enjoyable," according to a recent report by PC Gamer.

Furthermore, the NFT company went on to argue that their future gaming platform is actually "fighting for a future with a player-owned and operated economy."
