If you're looking for Spotify track recommendations to enhance your playlist without directly asking your friends for one, then Spotify has your back.
The popular audio streaming company recently announced it had released a new personalized playlist that would automatically fill up with the tracks your friends listen to on Spotify to let you explore different music genres better.
The new personalized playlist is already available if you have the latest version of the Spotify app.
Spotify 'Friends Mix' Personalized Playlist Details
Spotify mentioned in its announcement that its new personalized playlist, called "Friends Mix," is based on one of Spotify's earlier personalized playlists, Blends, which, if you remember, is a playlist created with friends and loved ones.
The difference between Blends and Friends Mix is that the former is created manually while the latter is created for you automatically each day. This automation means that Friends Mix will recommend new tracks for you to listen to every day, giving you a chance to discover new and familiar tracks based on what your friends are recently jamming to, per Tech Crunch.
However, there is a catch: you have to create three Blends playlists with another friend for Spotify to create a Friends Mix playlist accordingly.
Once three two-person Blends playlists are created, Spotify will immediately make a Friends Mix playlist in your "Made For Us" Shelf under the "Made For You" Hub.

Spotify's launching of a new personalized playlist follows the expansion of its Blend playlist creation tool to include more artists and the ability for fans to purchase artist merchandise through the feature.
Why Create Friends Mix?
Spotify explained that there are more than 11 million user-generated playlists with the word "friend" in the title. Additionally, there has been a 35% increase in streams of these playlists in 2022 in the US alone when compared to 2021's statistics.
Additionally, one of Spotify's main selling points is its personalized playlists which is one of the reasons why Spotify continues to lead the music streaming market.
As such, creating an automatically curated playlist based on what your friends have recently listened to is a no-brainer for Spotify.
How To Create A Friends Mix Playlist
To create a Friends Mix playlist, type "Blend" within Spotify's search tab and then tap "invite" to select a friend you want to Blend with. Once your friend has accepted your invite, Spotify will generate a Blend playlist that includes recommended songs that reflect you and your friend's preferred music genres.
Blend playlists even show which song was added from whom - you or your friend. Do this two more times with different friends for you to create three two-person Blends playlists.
Once three two-person Blends playlists are created, Spotify will automatically create a Friends Mix playlist under the "Made For Us" hub, which contains music tracks your friends have recently listened to.
Additionally, the more Blends playlists you create with different friends, the more music tracks get added to your Friends Mix playlist.
