Logitech has launched an Ultrathin Keyboard Folio for the iPad mini and the accessory is also water-repellent.
Apple has sold millions of iPad mini units since the tablet's launch in Oct. 2012 and customers will definitely want to keep their tablet safe to ensure longevity. The latest Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio protects the iPad mini from those occasional drops and scratches, and the folio is also water-repellent.
"Our thinnest, lightest Keyboard Folio provides an incredibly fast, fluid and comfortable typing experience. Our unique layout is based on decades of expertise and research," touts Logitech.
The Bluetooth enabled Ultrathin Keyboard Folio weighs only 285g (10.05 ounces) and is only 19.3mm (0.75 inches) thick. The folio also includes time saving iOS shortcut keys for copy, paste, undo and more.
Logitech claims that the Ultrathin Keyboard Folio is very durable and covers both the front and back of iPad mini. The company also indicates that the folio is precision engineered with state-of-the-art, water-repellent materials and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques and the accessory is perfect for everyday protection of the iPad mini.
The Ultrathin Keyboard Folio also acts as a dual-view stand that holds the tablet in two ideal positions. The upright position keeps the keyboard exposed, which give users a perfect angle for typing. You can also hide the keyboard and put the folio in a flat position ideal for listening to music and watching videos.
You can charge the keyboard using the included USB cable and the company claims that a full charge gives up to three months of battery life. Unfortunately, the USB port is specifically meant for charging and external USB devices are not supported.
The Ultrathin Keyboard Folio has clips at the corner which makes it easier to insert and remove the iPad mini. The clip at the corner also firmly fastens the iPad mini to the folio's frame. The powerful magnets in the accessory keeps the Ultrathin Keyboard Folio securely closed.
The Ultrathin Keyboard Folio has started selling in some parts of Europe at a price tag of Euro 79.99 (approximately $107). However, Logitech has not yet confirmed prices and availability of the iPad mini accessory in the U.S.
