It seems like the developers of Jetpack Joyride didn't one to stop with the original game only as Halfbrick Studios made an announcement that a sequel of the game is coming to Apple Arcade.
Jetpack Joyride was first released for iOS devices in 2011. It is a classic game, which is quite popular among players. It was launched more recently on Apple Arcade.
'Jetpack Joyride' Sequel Will Have New Levels
The sequel of the game will be called Jetpack Joyride 2. According to 9to5Mac, the gameplay style as well as the graphics will follow the first Jetpack Joyride.
However, the sequel will offer more excitement to players as this time they will discover new levels plus more adventures.
For those who are not familiar with Jetpack Joyride, it involves an infinite runner wherein the player must "fly in a jetpack inside a laboratory while dodging missiles and other obstacles," as per 9to5Mac.
The sequel's description says that players will have to "team up with Barry and Betty" in order to halt the scientists' experiments before it becomes too late.
While there are similarities to the original game, Jetpack Joyride 2 offers high-resolution graphics and new mechanics. According to the developers, "new ways to playing" will be present in the new game. However, they didn't offer any further details.
The Verge reported that last year Jetpack Joyride 2 was silently released in a few countries. The game was, however, temporarily pulled out from the App Store and Google Play. Halfbrick issued a statement that it was a "closed phase of development for an indefinite period."
Upon release, Jetpack Joyride 2 will be exclusive to Apple Arcade subscribers. Expect the Jetpack Joyride 2 to be available on App Store for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV on August 19, 2022.

More Games Are Coming to Apple Arcade
According to The Verge, in addition to the adventures of the original game, Jetpack Joyride 2 will be "story-driven experience." It will come with new mechanics, as per an Apple press email, said The Verge.
Apple provided a trailer together with some screenshots on the Jetpack Joyride 2 App Store page, if you want to check out the game.
Meanwhile, if you want to test your jetpacking skills before the sequel arrived, you can check out the Arcade-exclusive Jetpack Joyride Plus, or the original Jetpack Joyride game.
Aside from Jetpack Joyride 2, a few other games will be added to Apple Arcade in August, as per Game Spot. These include Amazing Bomberman, My Talking Tom, and Love You to Bits.
Players can start playing the Amazing Bomberman this Friday. In this game, players are opted to battle other players online. They have to engage in a battle with their friends in Friend Battle.
To familiarize themselves with the game's mechanics, players can also play in a Practice Mode. The Amazing Bomberman features music made exclusively for the game.
Meanwhile, My Talking Tom+ will be added to Apple Arcade on August 12. In the upcoming game, players are opted to adopt a virtual cat.
Lastly, Love You to Bits+ by Alike studio will be part of the service on August 26. It is a puzzle game that allows players to follow Kosmo, a rookie space explorer, in search for Nova, his robot girlfriend.
