DALY CITY, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 15: A customer enters a Burger King restaurant on February 15, 2022 in Daly City, California. Restaurant Brands International, the parent company of Burger King, reported strong fourth quarter earnings that beat analyst expectations with revenue of $1.55 billion.

It has left some customers anxiously wondering if the spam email is some sort of indication that there has been a security breach in the system of the multinational hamburger joint.

Some suspect it is simply an internal error that no one should be critically worried about.

Burger King Blank Receipt Email Spam

As per the latest news by The Verge, the customers of Burger King disclose that they received a surprising email of an order receipt, which is oddly blank.

The online news outlet notes that the weird email from the fast food chain started spamming its customers at around 12:15 AM Eastern Time.

Since then, thousands of Burger King customers in the United States and the United Kingdom have started storming social media platforms to share their confusing experiences.

The email says "order will be ready to be picked up." But it starts to be confusingly weird as the pick up location is merely blank.

What's worse, the order receipt is actually completely blank, except for the template that the fast food restaurant uses when someone places an order online.

Not to mention that the blank receipt also thanked its recipient for ordering from the fast food chain.

But on the other hand, its customers state on their social media posts that they did not check out any midnight snacks at all.

The Verge notes in its report that the emails came straight from the marketing email address of the fast food chain.

So, it is unlikely to be some sort of phishing scheme, wherein threat actors pretend to be the real deal to carry out cyberattacks on their targets.

It is worth noting, though, that some Twitter users claim that they never created a Burger King account, but they still surprisingly got the blank receipt email.

On the flip side, some folks were optimistic that the odd emails were simply an error or an internal mistake.

However, despite numerous assumptions regarding the blank receipt email spam in the middle of the night, Burger King has yet to explain what's really going on.

All that said, it is still unclear in the meantime whether Burger King is experiencing a security breach or all of this is merely a harmless blunder.
