Kim Kardashian Launches Beats Fits Pro Line with Neutral Colors

The Beats x Kim wireless earbuds will be available in retailers next week.

On Tuesday, Apple's Beats announced its newest collaboration with beauty mogul and reality TV star Kim Kardashian, aptly named Beats x Kim. The new Beats Fit Pro line features three new colors for the wireless earbuds, called Moon (light), Dune (medium) and Earth (deep). Each pair comes with a $199.99 price tag and will be available on Apple's website on Tuesday, August 16.

Retailers will also carry Kardashian's Beats Fit Pro line beginning August 17. According to USA Today, the 41 year old wanted to develop headphones that would visually complement her clothing and skincare lines, SKIMS and SKKN BY KIM.

"This concept was born from my love for neutral color palettes, but I also wanted to show that tech is as much a part of style as clothes," Kardashian explained to Vogue. "I believe that the things we wear every day should feel effortless, including headphones."

In a promotional video for the new Beats x Kim Fit Pro line, Kardashian explained that she had never seen tech products come in neutral colors. It was in this thought that sparked her to create the special edition collection featuring colors that would easily blend in with daily use and activity and would also reflect the entrepreneur's minimalist style, CNET reported.

Kardashian, who previously sported some brightly colored Beats earbuds and admitted that she was already a fan of the Beats brand, said she was happy to bring her "creative concept" and "color palette" to the line of earbuds.

Kardashian added that she wanted Beats x Kim to be different in the sense that tech products such as the Beats Fit Pro earbuds did not need to be colorful to make a statement style-wise. The new Beats Fit Pro line from Kardashian allows users to blend in or stand out with its neutral colors.

What to Know About Beats Fit Pro and Beats Electronics

The Beats Fit Pro line by Kardashian comes with the same functionality as other Fit Pro earbuds. Such features include Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency and Adaptive EQ modes, as well as spatial audio with dynamic head tracking.

Inside, the new Beats Fit Pro by Kardashian is powered by the Apple H1 chip, which lets users seamlessly and automatically switch between devices, audio sharing and hands-free "Hey Siri" assistance. They're also compatible with Apple devices and Android devices that have the Beats companion app.

Beats Electronics, which manufactures the iconic Beats By Dre headphones line, was acquired by Apple back in May 2014 for $3 billion, enabling the Big Tech giant to occupy space in the competitive headphone market as well. Beat Fits Pro earbuds cost $199.99, about $50 less than the Airpods Pro. However, both are often sold in retail stores for $180.

A TechRadar review said that the Beats Fit Pro offers "an AirPods Pro-like experience" at a lower price and applauded its robust features and "snug-fitting, workout-friendly" feel.
