LG G Pad 8.3 press image and specs leak (Video)

LG has released a teaser video for its upcoming G Pad tablet. A press image of the device has now leaked along with its rumored specs.

The company is looking to gain some market share in the smartphone world with its recently announced LG G2. The handset has impressive specs, a gorgeous 5.2-inch display and a case so thin the company had to put its volume and power buttons on the rear of the device. LG is now getting ready to introduce a new 8.3-inch tablet that will officially be called the LG G Pad 8.3.

The company released a teaser video for the tablet, which asks consumers, "What would make a tablet just right for you?" The video mostly centers on people claiming that their current tablets are too large and awkward to use outside of their home. They'd like a tablet that is smaller, but not too small, and be able to fit in a pocket. The tablet would need to be very thin and include a Full HD display that is large enough for two people to watch movies comfortably. It would also need to be able to connect to existing devices, like smart televisions (presumably LG smart TVs) and also pack in specs that make it a powerful tablet. LG ends the commercial with the official name of its upcoming tablet, the LG G Pad 8.3.

While LG's short video never shows an image of the LG G Pad 8.3, a new press image of the device has leaked along with its specs. The image shows the tablet next to the LG G2, revealing a very similar design and thin bezels around its display. The tablet will reportedly feature an 8.3-inch WXUGA display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 with 350 nit brightness and 60% color reproduction rate. The G Pad 8.3 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and will also include 2GB of RAM to provide a snappy user experience. It will run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and will come in a Wi-Fi only version and a Wi-Fi + 4G LTE variant.

LG will reportedly announce the G Pad 8.3 at IFA 2013 in Berlin and will ship the Wi-Fi model before the end of September, followed by the LTE model at the beginning of October.
