The Walking Dead: Last Mile Act One Episode One Details

Skybound Entertainment and Genvid Entertainment mentioned that the first episode of Facebook's exclusive interactive live event, The Walking Dead: Last Mile, is launching on Aug. 23.

Robert Kirkman, Chairman of Skybound Entertainment and creator of "The Walking Dead" franchise, previously said in June that he is thrilled to unveil its massively interactive live event (MILE) as a part game, part interactive TV show exclusively on Facebook Gaming and Facebook watch.

The event will start with a prologue wherein Facebook users will make life-or-death choices together as a community. These choices will not only shape the lives of the 12 AI characters in the event but will also determine the fate of their future in the franchise, per Game Press.

According to Gamespot, TWD: LW will take place in Prosper Landing, Alaska, which plays host to two main factions: the Village and the Plant.

The difference between the two factions is in how they look at their survival options: the Village focuses on traditional methods, while the Plant wants to get a gas plant back up and running, true to their name.

The game starts out like a role-playing game with visual novel-like touches in some places. Facebook users can create their very own survivors and earn influence points through mini-games and activities.

These influence points can be used to bid on every decision viewers can encounter. Regardless of how big or small these decisions may be, they will impact the story as it progresses.

It is at this point that the visual novel aspects of the game come to play.

Additionally, TWD: LM's story will reach a turning point with the first of three four-week Acts that will air consecutively through mid-November.

This schedule will result in one of the "most epic storylines" within The Walking Dead universe.

The MILE will also tie in with regular Facebook live streams throughout its four-month run, with Yvette Nicole Brown and Felica Day hosting them and propelling the narrative forward.

Brown's first live stream is set to debut on Aug. 23 at 4 PM PST, where she will reveal a new cinematic that provides a hint of what's to come in the MILE's first act.

Meanwhile, Day will be hosting a stream on Aug. 26 featuring her playing the MILE with a surprise guest host.

How To Play The Walking Dead: Last Mile

Gamers interested in playing the game must first sign up for a Facebook account on a device that can access Facebook's website or app. Afterward, search the game on the platform's search bar or go to the game's official Facebook Gaming page.

After agreeing to the game's terms and conditions, you will first encounter the game's tutorial section. However, for those who wish to get into the action quickly, a "Skip Tutorial" button can be found at the top left corner of the game's screen.
