Chris Pine Turns 42: Here are His Movies That You Can Stream on Netflix

From historical characters to supernatural but quirky and laughable ones, Chris Pine has quite the acting range in his career.

Despite that, most people know him as either Jack Frost or "The Enterprise's" Captain Kirk.

To celebrate his birthday, here are five of the movies he starred in that you can watch on Netflix so you can say otherwise:

Just My Luck

One of the first movies Pine did, "Just My Luck" is a romantic comedy movie about Ashley Albright, a woman from Manhattan, and her chance encounter with Jake Hardin, a young man down on his luck and played by Pine.

Despite its modest success at the box office, the movie received mostly negative reviews from critics, with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a score of 14% rotten due to it "asking little of its leads and less of its audience."

Meanwhile, people at IMDb gave the movie an average score of 5.4/10 after averaging 57 thousand reviews.

DreamWorks' Rise of The Guardians

"Rise of The Guardians" is possibly Pine's first foray into animated films, but it's also one of his most successful ones.

The movie follows the story of Jack Frost, a supernatural entity voiced by Pine that can wield the powers of winter and frost, as he tries to know his past and save the world from the clutches of Pitch Black the Boogeyman, who desires to terrorize the world with nightmares.

The movie was a box office hit, with the movie earning around $307 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

Star Trek: Into Darkness

One of the films that Pine is known for, "Star Trek: Into Darkness" follows the crew of "The Enterprise," which is captained by Pine's Captain Kirk, as they go on a mission to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction following the destruction of most of Starfleet.

Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a score of 84% fresh as it is "visually spectacular and suitably action packed."

The movie was also a box office success, with the movie earning as much as $467 million worldwide, per Box Office Mojo.

IMDb gave the movie an average score of 7.7 out of 10 from around 482,000 reviews.

Outlaw King

"Outlaw King" is a historical action drama film following the life and struggle of Scotland's beloved king, Robert the Bruce (played by Pine), against English rule following the quartering of William Wallace.

The Guardian gives the movie a respectable three stars out of five despite praising the film, while Rotten Tomatoes gave it a score of 62% fresh.

According to Rotten Tomatoes' review, the movie "doesn't skimp on the medieval battle scenes, but tends to lose track of the fact-based legend at the heart of its story."

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

In this American action thriller film, Pine plays the role of the titular character, Jack Ryan, a young covert CIA analyst trying to uncover a Russian plot to crush the US economy with a terrorist attack, per IMDb.

Despite its success at the box office, critics have given the movie average to negative reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a score of 55% rotten as while it doesn't "reinvent the action-thriller wheel," it does offer a "sleek, reasonably diverting reboot for a long dormant franchise."

IMDb, meanwhile, gave it a 6.2 out of 10 based on 132,000 reviews.
