Apple iOS 16 Beta 8 Is Now Available, 2 Weeks Ahead of Official Release

Apple has just released the iOS beta 8.

Beta 8 might be the last version of beta testing before the official release of iOS 16. Apple's iOS 16 beta 8 is now available for both developers and the general public to download.

This public beta is now in full swing just weeks before its official release in September in the Apple Far Out event.

This update continues the company's focus on bug fixes, performance improvements, and final optimizations for things like battery life and new features.

Apple iOS 16 Beta 8

According to 9To5Mac, the Apple iOS 16 Beta 8, also known as the 20A5358a build, was first rolled out to users with Apple developer accounts, then became quickly available for download to the general public.

Apple's iOS 16 beta 7 version was just released a week ago and only included a few minor changes and improvements. As the official release of the latest operating system approaches, Apple's primary focus is on improving overall performance and eliminating any remaining bugs.

If users are interested in downloading the beta version, users can open their Settings, select General from the menu, and click Software Update.

Apple's iOS 16 Features

Apple's iOS 16 beta includes a redesigned Lock Screen that provides a new level of personalization and customization through widgets. They now have fonts and colors that can be adjusted based on the current time, as well as a redesigned notification system.

According to MacRumors, Multiple Lock Screens, which function in a manner analogous to watch faces, are supported and can be connected to various Focus modes.

Focus is now both simpler to set up and more customizable than in the past. Focus filters are now available to eliminate content within apps that could be considered distracting.

Additionally, the Messages app now includes tools that allow users to mark messages as unread, edit an iMessage, and unsend an iMessage. The app now supports SharePlay, which is similar to FaceTime in its functionality.

At the same time, the Mail app features an enhanced search function as well as new tools, such as the ability to undo a sent message, schedule a message to be sent at a later time, and follow up, which notifies users to check on an email if they have not received a response.

The new iOS 16 beta also features the Shared Tab Groups that are supported in Safari, and Apple is working on developing Passkeys, a more biometrically secure alternative to passwords that can be used to log in to online accounts.

Apple Far Out Event

Apple is expected to release this latest version of the operating system during the Far Out event on September 7.

The Apple event will also unveil a number of new products, including the Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch Pro, and the iPhone 14. It is at the same event that Apple is expected to release to the public the latest version of iOS 16.

The public can get a hold of the iOS next month, depending on the schedule that Apple will follow through.

In the meantime, the release of iPadOS 16 has been pushed back to October. Apple issued a statement last week confirming the delay, saying that "iPadOS will ship after iOS, as version 16.1 in a free software update."
