Silent Hill 2 Remake Screenshots Leak Online

It seems Bloober Team is really working on a Silent Hill game.

Twitter user Andrew Marmo recently leaked a handful of low-resolution pictures that could be from the developer's demo of the game, per PC Gamer.

Bloober Team, the developer behind The Medium, Blair Witch, and the Layers of Fear series, is rumored to be developing a Silent Hill game since mid-May, which could be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 (PS5).

Silent Hill 2 Remake Demo Pictures Details

Andrew Marmo mentioned that the photos in his tweets were from Bloober Team's demo for the remake of Silent Hill 2, which is one of the most anticipated remakes in the gaming industry.

All four pictures feature a third-person over-the-shoulder perspective, though it is unclear if this will be the camera's permanent placement or not.

The first and second pictures of the demo are almost the same. Both of them show who is presumably James Sunderland aiming and/or inspecting a cluttered desk while aiming a flashlight, which illuminates that part of the room he is in.

However, the difference between the two is that the first picture displays the words "No one was here" twice, blocking the picture somewhat.

On the other hand, the third and fourth photos are different from the first two, with James walking down a hallway lit only with what seems to be streams of sunlight from dilapidated windows.

Meanwhile, the fourth picture shows James holding a baseball bat with two hands while a bubble-head nurse is rounding a corner in a dark building, which could be Brookhaven Hospital, per Eurogamer.

If these pictures are indeed from the game, then it hugely departs from the original game, which Konami released on Sept. 24, 2001.

The original 2001 game featured multiple camera angles, with it sometimes being static or following James at high angles. The camera's place could even feel "close and claustrophobic," at times. However, using the third-person over-the-shoulder perspective might make Silent Hill fans think and feel like they're playing a Resident Evil game instead due to the franchise utilizing the same camera angle in its latest games.

Marmo is not the only one providing the gaming community with leaks about the upcoming game. An anonymous Imgur user recently uploaded a concept art of who seems to be James holding a gun and hiding from Pyramid Head, which is one of the game's most recognizable antagonists.

Are The Pictures Telling The Truth?

Reset Era user Dusk Golem mentioned in a thread about the leaked pictures that the pictures are real, meaning that Bloober Team is really working on a remake of Silent Hill 2. However, they also added that the pictures were taken at a point when the game developer's work was not even close to its planned finished product.

"These [photos] are from an internal pitch demo from Bloober before they got greenlit, so its literally a no budget proof of concept thing rather than a final product, just keep that in mind," Dusk Golem said. "Out of everything that could've leaked, this isn't actually what the final game looks like."
