Apple’s October 2022 Event Leaks Point to a New iPad Pro, Mac Mini With M2 Chips

The Apple October 2022 event is expected to unveil gadgets with processors.

Apple's "Far Out" event last week focused on unveiling their latest mobile devices, the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The company also gave a spotlight to its newest Apple Watch series.

However, Apple is expected to conduct another event this October for their usual fall event. Some of the devices that are rumored to make an appearance are Apple's iPad, Mac Mini, Mac Pro, and MacBook Pro.

The event is speculated to unveil more of their devices for their newest generation with a few design upgrades and is expected to be powered by the new M2 chip.

Apple's iPad Pro with M2 Chip

Apple leaks that are resurfacing online suggest that the company will unveil an all-new iPad Pro powered by its latest processor, the M2 chip.

Apple's last updated model for the iPad Pro was released in April 2021. That version of the iPad has an M1 chipset, a Thunderbolt connector, a 5G feature for cellular versions, a 12-megapixel front camera, and Apple's Center Stage feature.

According to MacRumors, at the upcoming Apple October 2022 event, Apple intends to introduce new iPad Pro versions that support MagSafe wireless charging and the M2 chip.

It is speculated that the iPad Pro is anticipated to receive updates for both the 11-inch and the 12.9-inch models, although the 11-inch model is unlikely to receive the mini-LED display feature.

In addition, it is also rumored that the upcoming iPad Pro models will have a similar chassis design.

Apple MacBook Pro With M2 Pro and M2 Max Chips

Apple seems to be on its way to transitioning all of its laptop devices to its latest M2 chips.

The MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro 13.3" have already received the latest update for the processor and are now for sale. However, the Apple October 2022 event is suggested to unveil the MacBook Pro 14" and 16" with the latest M2 Pro and M2 Max chips.

Furthermore, aside from the latest chipset, it is also expected that the company might release the latest devices powered by an increase in the number of GPU cores and unified memory (RAM).

Speculation is suggesting that Apple's M2 Pro and M2 Max processors could be the company's first chips manufactured on 3nm technology. However, it is becoming more and more likely that these chips will continue to be manufactured on 5nm technology.

Apple's Mac Mini and Mac Pro

Apple is also expected to introduce the Mac Mini and the Mac pro with their newest chipset options.

In November 2020, Apple introduced its first three Macs powered by Apple silicon, one of which was the Mac mini equipped with an M1 chip. Apple has hinted that they are moving the Mac lineup away from Intel processors and toward Apple's silicon chips.

This change will take approximately two years to complete, which could be the reason why the Mac Pro took quite some time to receive the latest upgrade.

However, according to Bloomberg, the upcoming Mac Pro is likely to receive processors that will be named M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme.

On the other hand, the company is planning to release an updated version of the Mac mini that includes an M2 chip.

Apple continues to offer a more expensive Mac mini device with Intel processors, although it is anticipated that this configuration will soon be replaced by a model that features an M2 Pro chip.
