Splatoon 3 Conch Shell Glitch May Disrupt Splatfest Results

There is currently a major glitch in Splatoon 3 that is "impacting the ability of inklings and octolings to earn points in preparation for the game's first Splatfest," as per Dot Esport.

In a tweet of the Splatoon North America, it said that: "There's currently an issue where players who have not yet picked a Splatfest team will still receive conch shells. These shells may disappear and will not be counted toward the Splatfest results. Please ensure you have picked a Splatfest team to avoid this issue."

Nintendo Advises Players to Pick a Team to Avoid the Bug

Players are advised to pick up a Splatfest team as there's an ongoing issue for players who are not yet picking their teams.

According to the tweet by Splatoon North America, players who are not yet selecting their Splatfest team still receive Conch Shell.

However, the Conch Shell may eventually disappear, therefore will not be counted as part of the Splatfest result.

To avoid the issue, players must ensure that they have already selected their Splatfest team.

According to Dot Esport, only those players that have already affiliated themselves with a Splatfest team can receive Conch Shells prior to the beginning of the Splatfest battles.

The Conch Shells are a means for players to "impact the results of Splatfests before the event even begins."

Moreover, the Conch Shells are being added in the players' own category during the tally of the final results.

Players will find a Shell-Out Machine in the lobby where the said Sonch Shells can then be utilized. The Shell-Out Machine is "a capsule machine that awards players with Splashtags and locker items at random."

A warning was issued by Nintendo saying that players should pick a team for the upcoming Splatfest to avoid this bug. Picking a team would also ensure that the Conch Shells that they earn will not be nullified.

Players Will be Allowed to Change Their Region This Year

According to an announcement made at the recent Nintendo Direct, for this coming Splatfest, players of  Splatoon 3 can choose among gear, grub, or fun. They will bring their selection to a deserted island.

The Splatfest this year is scheduled on Sept. 23 to Sept. 25. It will feature a "Tricolor Turf War for the final few hours of the event," as per Dot Esport.

Once again, players are reminded that they can only gather Conch Shells before the Splatfest begins, and only if they have already chosen a team.

According to iMore, players can choose from four regions in Splatoon 3, namely Americas, Europe, Japan, and a region covering Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and South Korea.

Players will be given their current region suggestion based on where their Switch is set when they boot it up.

However, players can change their region if they prefer to. Therefore, you can change your region to be able to play with your friends. This is happening for the first time in  Splatoon history.

iMore mentioned that Splatfests have two main phases, the Sneak Peek and the Main Event. The Sneak Peek phase allows players to choose a team and engage in Turf War battles to earn Conch Shells.

The Main Event has two Splatfest Battle types, the Splatfest Battle (Open) and the Splatfest Battle (Pro).
