NVIDIA Launches Graphics Debugging Fix for Windows 11 22H2 Users — Here’s How To Get It

Windows 11 users with NVIDIA graphics cards can now breathe a sigh of relief in the meantime.

NVIDIA has recently released a fix for Windows 11 users who upgraded their operating system (OS) to 22H2 and have been experiencing performance issues while gaming since they did so.

The company's fix is only in its beta stage, however. As such, Windows 11 users can expect a better solution to the problem in the foreseeable future.

Windows 11 Update 22H2 Graphics Issue Details

Windows 11 users who upgraded their OS to 22H2 took to online forums such as Reddit and Microsoft's Community Forum to voice their concerns about their PC's performance, per Bleeping Computer.

According to the people who posted on Reddit, some have been experiencing "insane stuttering" while gaming, adding that their CPU usage in games dropped significantly from 80% to 5%.

Others have said that they got "extremely unstable FPS" while gaming despite having the necessary hardware to get the optimal experience.

There are also posts of similar concerns in the Microsoft Community Forum, wherein people with Windows 11 22H2 cited a similar drop in CPU usage, causing a substantial lag intensity.

Although these people also discovered that rolling back their computers to the previous OS firmware, Windows 11 22H1, would fix their issues, this is a temporary fix at best.

According to Parker Software, rolling an update back is similar to using an outdated operating system, which could expose a computer to vulnerabilities that cybercriminals could exploit.

Fortunately, NVIDIA kept its ears open and found the complaints, and launched a fix for the problem. According to the GeForce forums post of Manuel, an NVIDIA staff member, the Windows 11 update added new graphics debugging tools to the OS, which "inadvertedly getting triggered," leading to some Windows 11 users seeing lower performance while gaming.

How To Get The Beta Update

NVIDIA eventually launched an update for its NVIDIA GeForce Experience app to solve the problem, per its official Customer Support page. However, the update is still in its beta stage as of the writing of this article.

As such, it is best to hold off on upgrading to Windows 11 by either downloading it or buying a new computer or laptop, or updating Windows 11 with the 22H2 update if you're a gamer.

According to PC Gamer, it is better to wait for NVIDIA to launch a non-beta version and driver than to get the beta version now. It shouldn't be a long wait though, as NVIDIA stated that the non-beta update will be released within the week.

However, if you still wish to push through on updating Windows 11 to 22H2, here is how you can get NVIDIA's fix for you to experience smooth gameplay despite doing so:

Go to the official NVIDIA GeForce Experience v.3.26 installer and proceed with the installation once downloaded
Open the Settings tab within the NVIDIA GeForce Experience App and then select "Enable Experimental Features." After that, close the app and wait for 30 seconds before re-opening it. The app will automatically have the beta version of V.3.26.
