Here's Why Robots Will Never Take your Job

The world of today has a lot of technological wonders that can do most of the heavy lifting for us, especially when it comes to mass production.

However, with each new technology made in the pursuit of efficiency and perfection, blue-collar and white-collar workers could be at risk of losing their jobs to robots and AI that could do their job better in every way.

But is there actually a threat, or are we just being paranoid?

Capabilities Of Robots And AI

The capabilities of robots and AI aren't a secret. Having a robot/AI help with things in the assembly line is an advantage as they never tire and are efficient and cost-effective when used properly, per Jessica Barden.

Robots and AI are also almost error-proof, which can be a great advantage to companies and businesses manufacturing quality-sensitive items.

These advantages are also extended to white-collar jobs. When properly programmed, robots and AI can produce art pieces good enough that human artists feel threatened that they will lose their jobs to AI.

Additionally, the AI recommendation algorithms similar to those used in social media platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook can be used to learn what people want to know about and have them write articles based on the topics it finds, per The Guardian.

Will Robots And AI Steal People's Jobs In The Future?

With these capabilities, AI and robots can replace humans in the assembly line and even in front of a computer screen, and it's bound to happen at one point.

A CBS report stated that machines could replace 40% of the world's workers in 15 to 25 years, while PwC says that 30% of jobs will be automated when the 2030s come.

Meanwhile, a Pew Research Center study found that 48% of experts surveyed believe that a significant amount of blue and white-collar workers will lose their jobs to machines.

Digital Genius co-founder and Chief Strategy officer Mikhail Naumov also mentioned that having an AI doing a job for you is "not not simply a 'nice to have' tool, but a 'must-have' technology."

He also added that AI and robots taking over the business world are a guarantee. However, Naumov also stated that a living, breathing human team up with AI is still the best way to move forward in business.

Despite the many capabilities of robots and AI, they are unable to imagine like we humans do, feel, adapt to changing situations, and consider short-term and long-term goals.

Forbes' Ashley Stahl mentioned in their article that although there will be some jobs that robots and AI will take over for humans, there are some jobs that robots can't do.

These jobs have to do with "characteristically human skills," such as creativity, intuition, initiative, and critical thinking. As such, humans could either try to fix and augment the AI and robots that replaced them, as Built In says, or complement them with jobs that work around skills that make us human.

According to Harvard Business Review's report on the matter, the "jobs of tomororw," jobs that will become more popular in the future, focus on the digital realm, with platform engineers, social media assistants, and Python developers leading the charge as among the most highly anticipated popular jobs.
