AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 3 available for pre-order, ships Oct. 1

AT&T has joined Verizon and is now taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The carrier is charging $299.99 and expects to ship October 1.

Customers on AT&T can now pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, as the carrier has officially announced that it is now taking pre-orders for the just-announced phablet. It has also confirmed that it will be offering the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch in the coming weeks.

The AT&T Galaxy Note 3 features a 5.7-inch 1080p Full HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 386 pixels per inch (ppi) and runs Android 4.3 with Samsung's TouchWiz UI. It is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU) and 3GB of RAM.

It's packing a high-end 13-megapixel illuminated rear camera with "smart stabilization" and a 2-megapixel front facing shooter, with both cameras able to capture 1080p HD video. It comes with 32GB of internal storage and includes a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 64GB microSD cards. Its wireless connectivity options include a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC. You'll also find an IR blaster to turn the Note 3 into a universal remote control and it also features a dedicated program guide. Samsung has included a large 3,200 mAh removable battery and enhanced S Pen functionality.

Some of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3's highlights include:

  • My Magazine allows you to curate content tailored to the things you love including sports updates, celebrity news, your social media feeds, even nearby restaurant suggestions.
  • Scrapbook provides an easy and functional way to use the S Pen to grab and store videos, photos and clips from Web pages that are linkable back to the original online source. 
  • Wake-up Command allows you to send messages, make calls and more without touching your phone, just by saying "Hi, Galaxy." 
  • S Finder makes locating emails, text messages, contacts or web history on your smartphone easy. You can even search for handwriting or symbols, or browse by date. 
  • Advanced Multi Window functionality lets you keep two windows of the same app open so you can browse your social media feed while posting vacation photos. You can also drag and drop an address from an email into a map search without cutting and pasting. 
  • Samsung Smart Switch transfers contacts, calendar events, messages, photos and more. It can also automatically find your favorite apps on Google Play and recommend similar ones if there isn't a direct match. 
  • Action Memo makes your handwritten notes actionable. You can dial a number, import information directly into contacts, go directly to a web address and find an address on a map.

You can pre-order the AT&T Galaxy Note 3 for $299.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. The carrier expects to ship the Galaxy Note 3 on October 1st.
