Rockstar Games To Bring New Content, 2021’s Halloween Pass to Red Dead Online for Spooktober

Red Dead Online is back from the brink of death, sort of.

Rockstar Games recently announced it is adding new and previously released content for its neglected online multiplayer game after a year of releasing no new content for it.

Rockstar Games announced earlier in July that Red Dead Online will no longer receive any more major content updates to focus on its upcoming game, Grand Theft Auto 6, per PC Gamer.

Red Dead Online Halloween Content Details

Rockstar mentioned in its announcement that Red Dead Online would have a new Hardcore Telegram mission on Oct. 18 that can be accessed through the in-game Post Office or the Camp Lockbox.

The game developer mentioned that the mission comes from Ike Skeding, who discovered a 7th Generation cult performing necromantic rituals to raise the dead and "bring their late prophet back from the other side."

Completing this mission, along with all of Skelding's Hardcore Telegram Missions will reward players with 3 Gold RDO$ and XP.

Unfortunately, that's the only new content Rockstar will be giving Red Dead Online and its players. However, it will be bringing one of its content back from the dead for players to enjoy.

The video game company announced it is bringing back Red Dead Online's Halloween Pass for a limited time through Oct. 31, allowing old players who were unable to complete the pass during their first go-around the chance to pick up where they last left off.

Meanwhile, new Red Dead Online players, along with those that were unable to participate in the game's previous Halloween event can get the pass to earn exclusive rewards that include masks to help conceal their character's identities across the pass' 15 ranks.

Additionally, all Halloween Pass 2 owners, regardless if they participated in last year's event, that unlock each of the 15 ranks will earn the Hired Gun Kit for unlocking each of the pass' 15 ranks.

The kit contains a Fierro Bandana, bundles of ammo and consumables, and Capitale worth five gold bars.

Rockstar is also bringing its All Hallows Call To Arms event to the game, with three new maps added to the mode - Heartland Oil Fields, Limpany, and the Saint-Denis Graveyard, per Gamespot. Players who participate in All Hallows' Call to Arms will earn 3 RDO$, XP, and even four free Gun Oil.

Cosmetics And Other Content

Two Halloween-themed Features Series, which are "Fear of the Dark" and "Dead of the Night," is also returning to the game for Spooktober, with the former putting players up against Night Stalkers, while the Latter makes four teams face each other and a horde of undead.

However, the two Featured Series are available on select dates only. "Fear of the Dark" is playable on Oct. 4 to 10, and again on Oct. 18 to 14, while the latter can be played on Oct. 11 to 17, and on Oct. 25 to 31.

Unfortunately, Rockstar won't be adding new cosmetics in the game, with the only outfits available for the taking being from October's free community outfit, per Sportskeeda.
