Honda Prologue: Here’s What You Have to Know About the Battery-Electric SUV

Honda's first-ever full-electric SUV is taking the auto industry by storm.

The famous automaker has recently unveiled its new Prologue electric vehicle (EV) to the world as part of its wish to seek a "zero environmental footprint."

Honda was previously reported to be planning on accelerating its electrification to help it realize "the joy and freedom of mobility."

Honda Prologue Features, Specifications, Design

Honda mentioned in its announcement that its first-ever electric SUV would feature a simple and clean "Neo-Rugged" exterior and interior styling and adequate interior space for trips within and without the city.

According to the automaker, a team of young designers came up with the design of the EV's exterior and interior, with the term Neo-Rugged being the design direction to bring "the harmony of nature's elements" to the car's interior and exterior design.

The car's exterior features a North Shore Pearl exterior tint, whose color is inspired by California's Lake Tahoe. Meanwhile, its interior will have a charcoal and light gray tint taken from the look of "freshly fallen snow on the mountains."

Additionally, instead of placing the usual "H-mark" on the vehicle's rear, Honda decided to place its whole brand name in a stylized typeface to differentiate it from its internal combustion engine cars.

The company also mentioned that the brand name is typed in a stylized typeface that reflects the Prologue's design.

As for the Prologue's specifications, the car has a wheelbase of 121.8 inches and a 21-inch wheel diameter. It is also 192 inches long, 78.3 inches wide, and 64.7 inches high.

With these measurements put into consideration, the car is five inches wider than the 2023 Honda CR-V.

As for its interior, the Prologue has a tech-rich cabin and a fully digital 11-inch driver display panel with an 11.3-inch audio/connectivity display.

Honda has yet to release more details about the Prologue's specifications, but it promises to release updates in the coming months.

However, there may be some hints on what the car and its maker will offer customers scattered here and there. Interesting Engineering mentioned that the upcoming Honda Prologue is meant to target customers who want to enjoy the versatility of an SUV without worrying about the greenhouse gases it emits.

Meanwhile, Hot Cars reports that Honda built the Prologue on General Motors' Ultium platform, meaning it will use the same engine options as the Chevrolet Blazer EV, which features a range of 247 to 320 miles and a charging rate of up to 190kW.

Honda Prologue Release Date And Price

Honda mentioned that its Prologue EV will arrive in the North American market sometime in 2024. Unfortunately, the company didn't share a specific release date for the car.

Since it features the same platform as the Chevy Blazer EV, it could be assumed that the car will be priced similarly, with the former having a price tag of $45,000.
