It is no surprise then that a particular amusement park holds the world record for the most rides. Take note, we said rides and not just roller coasters. Can you guess which amusement park it is?

Here's a clue: it's located in Ohio, USA. That narrows things down, huh?

5 Roller Coasters You Can Find in Cedar Point Amusement Park

As of writing, Cedar Point Amusement Park comes in fourth when you rank the amusement parks with the most roller coasters. It has, as of press time, 15 roller coasters and we are about to show you five of them.

Let's get started!

Corkscrew

Inspired by the U.S. Bicentennial in 1976, which is also the same year this roller coaster opened, Corkscrew is actually the first roller coaster to feature three inversions, per the Cedar Point Amusement Park website.

The ride is only two minutes long, but its length spans 2,050 feet. Speed goes up all the way to 48 mph and there is even a point where guests are flipped upside down at 38 mph.

GateKeeper

The Cedar Point Amusement Park website proudly declares that they "put a coaster that breaks seven world records at the very front of the park, giving a taste of what's to be conquered." That roller coaster is none other than GateKeeper.

The ride first opened in 2013 and features two 100-foot key holes, a wing-over drop maneuver at 67 mph, and a 180-degree rotation into a half loop that starts at 170 feet above ground. The ride only lasts for two minutes.

Gemini

Of course Cedar Point Amusement Park has its own wooden and steel roller coaster and it is none other than Gemini.

Guests ride either the red coaster or the blue coaster, and both coasters launch at the same time and zoomm through all the twists, turns, and drops side by side. Gemini, which opened in 1978, is two minutes and 40 seconds long, and features and 125-foot climb and speeds reach up to 60 mph.

Magnum XL-200

Magnum XL-200 holds the distinction of being the first hyper coaster as well as the first roller coaster to top 200 feet, according to Cedar Point Amusement Park. This roller coaster, which opened in 1989, has previously been awarded the ACE Roller Coaster Landmark award in 2004.

What can guests expect from this award-winning roller coaster? "While accelerating over hills and through tunnels, riders travel above Cedar Point Shores to the beach before completing its signature 'pretzel turnaround.'"

Maverick

If you like roller coasters with lots of rolls, corkscrews, twists, and the like, then Maverick is probably right up your alley. The ride, which lasts for two and a half minutes, features a Twisted Horseshoe Roll, two 360-degree corkscrew rolls of opposite direction. These corkscrew rolls are separated only by a 180-degree banked curve.

Maverick is another award-winning roller coaster you will find in Cedar Point Amusement Park as it was awarded the Golden Ticket Award for Best New Ride back in 2007.
